racheal.nichols:  I have two dresses which I purchased 8 months prior to the wedding. I am waiting on my next fitting and I can’t wait. The closer the day gets the more anxious and excited I feel. I just wanted to get the dress part out of the way as I am indecisive and would have put it off for a while lol My sister had to push me to try them on.

I purchased my dress 9 months before the wedding. I’m one of those people that needs to see the dress to feel like it’s purchased, mine, and something I can cross off my to do list. The first couple of days I kept reviewing my photos of the dress and felt like I might actually go crazy waiting for the dress. But as time went on you will be kept busy with other wedding planning. Now as the time is getting closer for my dress to come in I feel more excited because all the pieces of the wedding are coming together!

I purchased over a year before our wedding, but we moved our date out so that’s why the long lead time. In the end, I was glad I had given it a long time because it took a long time to come in and it was one less thing to worry about.

racheal.nichols:  I bought my dress for our October ceremony the weekend after we got legally married (March 7th). I got to take my dress home right away because it was a small private store and it happened to fit.

I’m sad now though because I had to drop it off at the tailor yesterday to get it shortened and straps added. I won’t get it back until May 14th 🙁 I want it back now haha.

I bought mine just over 9 weeks before the wedding (which was stressful, but how things worked out!). I’m waiting for it to come in now, should be in the next 2 weeks, which’ll leave 6ish weeks for alterations.  And absolutely dying to know how it’ll look post-alterations!

racheal.nichols:  I bought my dress over a year in advance. No regrets, I had it preserved after the wedding, and sometimes I still look through the peep hole at my dress. I am in love with it

racheal.nichols:  I ordered my dress 8 months before the wedding. It took 5 months to come in. Luckily, there were so many things going on that I forgot about my dress until I got the phone call to come and pick it up.

9.5 months before. Focused on other things including work and my husbands’ deployments so I didn’t think about the dress much.
