  • Wedding: October 2014

I ordered my dress mid-April, and it was expected to arrive in August. It actually came the beginning of July, but I coudln’t pick it up until mid-July due to busy weekends and the salon was out of town.

My wedding was in October, so it arrived 3 months before the wedding. I didn’t start alterations until the end of September with a gal my mom knows who does seamstress work from her home so I could go there every day and get something done, if needed.

I was more nervous with the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, but those came in faster than the other ones. I can’t remember when they were ordered (we only had 2), but they came in much earlier than expected.

You keep busy with everything else that I never really thought of it! But, had August arrived and my dress hadn’t come in – then I would have been worried.

We had a really short engagement (2 months), and I hated the styles in the bridal salons, so I ended up ordering online. It showed up 2 weeks after I ordered it and required no alterations because it was custom fitted. I did like getting to keep it in my closet to look at or try on whenever I wanted 🙂

  • Wedding: June 2016

My wedding is in June 2016 and I ordered my dress about 2 weeks ago. It’s not coming in until December. I was thinking about it all of the time but now that the dress is ordered, I feel more relaxed and can think of other things. I’m sure as we get closer to December, I’ll be freaking out about the wait.

FedEx tried to deliver mine Friday and I wasn’t home! I won’t be able to actually get it until tomorrow when someone is home to sign for it. My wedding isn’t until late next year

  • Wedding: July 2015 - Carmen\'s Lakeview

Wedding is July 2015. Went dress shopping August 2014 with my mom before we even got engaged (as my mom lives on the other side of the country), bought my dress October 2014 at a sample sale for 90% off. It’s been nice having it in my closet that I can try on whenever I want since I needed to be able to see it to make it feel real. I still constantly look at pictures of me in it just to see how it all comes together. I’m still making a few adjustments to the gown though but my first alterations appointment is next month and it’s killing me to have to wait so long!!!

  • Wedding: May 2016

I got engaged at the end of January and I just bought my dress 3 weeks ago and my wedding isn’t until the end of May of next year. I bought it off of a woman on preownedweddingdresses.com that’s from Staten Island, NY and I’m from Toronto, Canada. It’s my dream dress and I had my eye on it on the site for about a year before I even got engaged. So once I was engaged and the dress was still for sale, I jumped on it! I know it will look good on me, so I know that won’t be an issue. However, I’m worried that it won’t fit. It’s around my size but wedding dresses kinda fit differently so I’m a little anxious about that. But I’m pretty sure it’ll be okay. I’m just extremely excited for it to get here and I’m doing my best to be patient, but it’s so hard lol
