I am getting married in June, and ordered my dress last June. It will not come in until December and I am starting to have anxiety over picking the right one! At the time, I was in love, but being away from it, I am having second thoughts. Looking through pictures, it looks like most people choos and a-laine or ball gown. Mine is a fit & flare or mermaid dress.
What do you guys think? is it to different???

No. There is no such thing as too different. Stop second-guessing yourself and looking at other dresses, or you’ll end up being a two-dress bride. :p Chillax, lady.

#1 Being different is Great! not bad!
and a lot of people chose the mermaid style dresses and to be completely honest the only reason I never tried the mermaid style on is because I can’t pull it off – my hips are too big and it makes me feel uncomfortable!
If you look great in your dress and feel great in your dress – when it comes in in december you will fall in love all over again!!!

I agree, Chill out, I think the gown is gorgeous. And unless you were wearing an orange camoflauge printed gown with purple feathers, I really don’t think anything is “too” different.
And now that I said that, I’m almost certain that I will find someone wearing that combo…

I think it’s lovely, and I think you will love it even more when you see it in December…absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Crap! I misread your poll question and voted no, thinking that it was not too different, not that you shouldn’t wear it! (So I’m the lone dissenter, but only by mistake!)
It’s a beautiful dress and I’ve seen a lot of other brides on weddingbee with mermaid/fit and flare dresses. You picked it for a reason–just remember how it made you feel when you first tried it on.

It doesn’t look unconventional to me at all: it’s strapless, white, traditional shape, traditional length, common neckline…. If your anxiety is around looking UNLIKE others too much…. well, i wouldn’t worry! If you love it, if you look pretty in it, if you feel good — of course you should wear it.

Your dress is beautiful and I’m sure you look gorgeous in it! Stop worrying about it. I have also seen a lot of other brides on weddingbee with mermaid/fit and flare dresses.

it’s beautiful. i love mermaid style! don’t worry about being “too” different, you loved in when you bought it and that’s all that matters 🙂

A lot of people go through this… but if you loved it before and thought it was right then don’t second guess yourself.
I think it’s a gorgeous dress!!!

I don’t see how this dress can be “too different”. It looks like a bridal gown to me– and a lovely one at that! If you rock the fit and flare style, I say don’t change it! And I know it’s hard not to look when every other thread on the WB has pictures of dresses, haha. 🙂

oh my goodness no its gorgeous! EVERYONE gets this same dress anxiety. you havent seen the dress in MONTHS, you wont see it for months, and new lines are coming out. I even doubted my dress, and when I put it on again I fell in love 1000 times over. Id suggest going abck to teh bridal shop and putting THAT ONE ONLY back on. Youll get the same feeling, trust me

It is a gorgeous dress, and I agree it’s not unconventional. Though, in my opinion, there is no such thing as too unconventional! Then again, I wore several ballerinas tutus as my train 😉

I was expecting something totally different after your post–I think your dress is very pretty and not all that unconventional. I know a lot of brides are choosing the mermaid style these days. I think we all have a little dress anxiety at some point, but if you love your dress, then it’s the right one for you! 🙂

Beautiful dress! I think dress regret is totally normal, but yours is not all that unconventional!
