I just bought a dress a saw for a wedding, and when I got home I started to doubt whether its appropriate. Its a late April wedding in the late afternoon… I’m planning on accessorizing so the dress will look more formal, but now I’m concerned it might be too “light” and upset the bride? Also, I’m on the plus side… so finding this dress and having it fit was a complete coincidence and blessing, so I’d prefer to keep it, again, if its appropriate. So without any furter ado the dress… http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=SIZ&ItemID=1e3fd39&deptid=70656&SO=0&Ne=4294957900+5+29+3+1031+18+904+1545&NOffset=2&catid=80999&N=4294934468&Nao=0&PSO=0&bcCat=3&CmCatId=EXTERNAL|80999
What do ya’ll think? Thanks for the help!

it’s not loading for me – boo! But I could tell that it’s a maxi dress. I think this is totally appropriate. I have seen so many people wear maxi dresses to weddings – you’ll be fine!

If the link worked it’s a light sort of grey colour with coral and blue flowers? It’s absolutely fine and looks gorgeous 🙂

I can’t get it to load the dress picture, but the fabric swatch looks fine.

I had to refresh to get the pic to load (JCP must be getting some big online business :P) but i think you will be fine. It’s a lovely dress and the pattern negates the fact that it’s a lighter dress. Statement necklace and bracelets all the way! 😛

I don’t think it’s too light at all, even if the background was white, with the bright flowers it wouldn’t look too bridal which is what I think we’re supposed to avoid 😉 Accessorize up and good to go!

I think it looks great! I can see what you mean by fearing it might be too casual, but if you can dress it up a bit I think it will look great!!

I like the dress. It depends on what kind of wedding you’re having. If your wedding not completely formal, I think you’re fine. It’s going to be your day, so wear what’s going to be comfortable for you. I’m sure whatever accessories you decide to pair it up with, it will lookamazing and hair and makeup will definitely top it off, just stay away from formal looking hairstyles. I also totally see neutral to barely there makeup paired with this. 🙂

I think its fine! Its really cute too! Enjoy it 🙂

I dont think maxi dresses are appropriate for weddings unless its a casual jeans type wedding

I think it’s ok for a wedding.

I love it! I don’t think a bride would have any issue with it! A cute cardigan (in case it gets chilly… Although I see you’re in TX, so you may not need that 🙂 haha) and some funky jewelry and you’re all set!

It’s fine for a more casual wedding. I don’t think the colors are a problem at all.

i think its fine, especially with accessories to make more formal. i would also add a light sweater – a shrug or bolero in a coordinating color

Thanks for all the input, everyone! I’m thinking I’ll pair it with some nice strappy silver heels, coral necklace or chandelier earrings, and a silver clutch… Do ya’ll think it’ll still look like a maxi dress? On the pic it looks kinda jersey-ish, but in real like its more like a flowy, gauzy fabric; which I think helps make it look more formal. Do you think this will help dress it up?
