With a dress as trendy as the Dori, I really doubt you will still love it in two years. I saw all the 2016 dresses when I went in for the fitting for my 2015 dress, and they were all sooooo gorgeous and so different and so much more “fresh” looking- I resisted trying them on!! But I don’t think you will enjoy wearing the Dori when you see all the amazing 2017 dresses. If you like the Dori you obviously like the “trends” as opposed to the more timeless looks- and thats not a negative thing at all! But it means you will probably be far more in love with the 2017 dresses in 2 years.

I also think you are over-estimating how easy it will be to sell the Dori if you decide not to go with it. It seems like most are never able to sell their dresses.

I know how you feel….but i would suggest not getting it now. Deals are always there.

1. Your taste might chaneg in 2 years

2. You body might change in 2 years

3. Your plans might change in 2 years

4. Sounds stupid, i know, but it’s like you’ll be Jinxing you engagement

Trust me there will be deals for this dress again. I mean if, yes, if you have a lot of money, go for it, but then you mihgt have to sell it or donate it.

It’s a beautiful dress, but given that your possible wedding is not until 2 years from now I would advise on not purchasing the dress yet.  Your taste is guaranteed to change,  Plus there are new dresses coming out all the time.  What if you see something you love more? Anyway 30% discount is not that impressive.  When the next collection comes out the older styles get discounted anyways.  When i was looking for a dress the  prior collection was discounted by 25% already.

tagerosan:  all these points!

i wouldn’t worry about the relationship not heading for marriage, but I would worry about your body/venue/tastes changing. Who knows? Maybe next year a dress similar enough to that one will show up somewhere for a lot less money.

I neglected to say this earlier, but even though my Fiance gave me the go ahead to buy the dress before the engagement I never did.

The dress I have bought is actually nothing like the one I was going to get. My pre-ring dress was the Kitty Chen Lavender (lace mermaid) and I ended up with the Wtoo Marnie (flowy, bohemian, blush).

Just make sure you will never look at another dress if you do buy it as it is a costly case of dress regret otherwise!
