futuremrsc2016:  to answer your question, yes you can get the long dress for the JR bridesmaids and have it shortened. You’d need to pay for that cost though.

However, I really think you should go shopping with all your bridesmaids and let them pick the dress. Unless you’re paying for it, in which case go ahead and buy what you like.

futuremrsc2016:  just a thought; these dresses could be hemmed if you’re worried about length.

kelmpm7809:  <—what she said.  Also, sometimes those convertible dresses can be a bitch to tie (and stay tied).  They also don’t offer the best boob support, so if any ladies are larger in the chest, this may not be the best option.

futuremrsc2016:  As for the younger girls, the parents should have a say in what they wear.  Of course a 10 year old will have multiple opinions on what they want to wear, but I think the best way to go about this is to give a few options to the parents and then let the parents go shopping with their kids and make a final decision.

futuremrsc2016:  ok so it sounds like they’ve pretty had the chance to look at dresses and give their opinions and y’all are on the same page. So that’s fine. I just know some brides get zero input from their bridesmiads and pick out some awful dresses. That’s happened to me and I was pissed LOL.

As far as the younger girls, I’d pick the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and then just get matching junior Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. If they were teenagers it’d be one thing but they’re 10 year olds and likely won’t care as long as it’s not hideous haha. And flower girl dresses are all pretty standard. Maybe let the flower girl’s mom pick out the dress.

futuremrsc2016:  no problem. Sounds like you have a good plan. Again, yes you can shorten long dresses to match the length of a short dress 🙂
