junebride16:  I’m also getting married in a Catholic church and my dress is a similar Trumpet cut, although mine has sleeves.   I’ve been to a lot of church weddings where the bride wore a strapless  trumpet or mermaid dress and it was perfectly fine.  I will say to make sure your dress is altered to not be too tight just so you will be able to sit and kneel during the ceremony.

I think that dress will be absolutely fine for a Catholic ceremony.

I think the tightness is fine, but ditto on the sleeves. In my country you’re not supposed to be sleeveless in a church, whether you’re the bride or not 😛

junebride16:  typically your shoulders must be covered. Some kind of shawl or something… I am catholic and I wouldn’t wear strapleas to a regular mass or a wedding mass. After the mass you can take the cover off but typically depending on how traditional the church you attend still is you must be covered, expecially since the dress is very close fitted.

junebride16:  all the bridal store I have been to say the dresses are to be tailored to fit you like a glove so I think the tightness is fine.
