I’m specifically looking for advice from bees who have experience with a Toronto or Mississauga company that cleans and preserves wedding dresses. Travelling any farther in the GTA is not an option for me, unless the company has a pick-up and delivery service.
How much did it cost?
Are you quoting the final cost, or before tax?
I got a quote from LOVEYOURDRESS.CA – they said it would be $325 plus 13% tax, which includes pick up, the cleaning, and delivery. When I filled out the online quote form, there were two options:
- $185 for muslin wrapped, museum grade preservation kit including monogram
- $90 for platinum acid-free memory boxing with window display
I chose the 2nd option, and their quote seems pretty high to me.
I checked DAVIDSBRIDAL.CA, which brings me to their American website. Their cleaning and preservation sound pretty good, but there’s a red box in the bottom that says “this product is only available for US shipping” so I do not think I can actually purchase this service online.
Does anyone know if I can get it in person at their store?
The .COM website advertises $190 and you have to pack the gown in the provided box, and drop it off at UPS. They would clean, treat, press, and preserve it, using anti-yellowing treatment and acid-free paper. If that’s even available to Canadian bees…
