I went with a fairly dark ivory dress and I wish I would have gone for more of a white. Not a stark white though because I feel that is hard to pull off in many skin tones, but more of a diamond white. It looks very clean while still being skin tone friendly. Keep in mind too in photographs whatever color you choose could wind up looking a bit lighter.

Edited to add: Ivory from brand to brand looks VERY different. I have found some that were much darker and antique looking like mine was and others that are just off from true white. Its all very subjective. But I am sure whatever you picked will be beatuiful!

I tried many ivory and white dresses and I felt that ivory suited my skin better because it was a warmer tone of white, but it definitely still looks white. I could have gone for either and been happy.

I’m like, albino pale [not actual albino, but you know what I mean] so white made me look like death. I got ivory so it wasn’t pale on pale. It makes me look a little better.

Definitely ivory. Pure white is just so hard to pull off!

I am pale and I got a stark white dress. I like the way stark white looks 🙂

@bump:  I was torn between the 2 but decided on white instead of ivory–I’m fairly tan so I think the white is a nice contrast

Based on your description of your skin, I think Ivory will look better.

I got an ivory dress and regretted it for about 5 seconds (Fi really wanted me to wear white). My dress is a very light ivory and doesn’t completely wash me out so I love it.

I went with a natural white…somewhere inbetween ivory and stark white…I, for about a moment worried what people would think for me not wearing white, white….but I know the color I picked looks best on me.

Ivory is the most popular bridal color right now.

A big part of me wants a white dress because well that’s been my dream since I was a little girl. But I ordered ivory, my dress is lace and looked better in ivory and ivory just looks better on me.

I think an ivory dress will look great on you, and you already said you didn’t like the white because it was too white. If you’re worried about what it will look like in pictures or worried about what others will think don’t because so many more people wear ivory now anyway and most ivories look more like soft whites. I think it’ll look perfect.

I always said i wanted a white dress…but my dress is champagne. and i actually love it. I think Ivory would look better with your skin tone, but there are also some dresses out there that just look better white. Do you have a pic of your dress??

I chose ivory. I am pretty sure stark white won’t look all that great on my skin tone either. If I had more of a tan or olive skin tone, I would have chosen white maybe.
