Hey! So this topic has probably been addressed before, but I have a question about my dress. I am getting married in December, but went to David’s bridal and found one I loved, so I decided to buy it while it was on sale. It is set to come in late Feb., and they expect you to pick it up with 14 days of it coming it. I then have to store it for the next 8 months. Did anyone have to do this? If so, what did you do to protect the dress? They offer a box to keep it from yellow, but that’s more supposed to be for AFTER the wedding, so I’m not sure what I need to do. Thanks!!!

@christmasbride13: I ordered my DB dress three weeks ago and it already came in this past weekend! I made an appointment to pick it up this coming Sunday and go ahead with alterations, since my wedding is in May and my consultant said that the alterations department gets swamped around March. My size doesn’t fluctuate either, so I should be okay with having alterations done this early.
That said, I will be storing my dress in my closet in a garmet bag. DB used to give you a complimentary bag to house your dress, but I am not sure if they still do this. I have one large enough regardless, but you should be given a bag to protect it. You can also buy large enough garmet bags at Target for $5. My consultant said that I can come in the week or so before my wedding and have it steamed to help give it life so that’s my plan!
