@WeddingBells33: I went to a wedding in August where the bride wore a hoop and it gave the dress a lovely shape.  She said that she didn’t think anything of it when moving around for photographs and she was positioned beuatifully for the ones taken when sitting down.  She didn’t think it was too much of a bother to remove it (which she did and then put it back 20 minutes later).  Her wedding photos are gorgeous and the hoop didn’t make a huge difference.  Obviously bees who have worn hoops will have better advice/experience than me! 🙂

I wear hoops for historical re-enactments and concerts all the time and they really aren’t as restricting as you’d think.  They just take practice and a little help to get on and off.  If you want the lying down shots, they can be done, but they take some finess to get right and you can’t move quickly, so again, it’s all about practicing!  See if you can get a hold of a hoop before you make your decision so you can play with it.

@WeddingBells33: Surely there are alot of bees out there who wore hoops?  No one’s answering.

Hi there – I wore a three tiered hoop (similar to the one below) under my gown and it was just fine!!  It didn’t hinder my movement at all.  I danced the night away!  However, being seated at dinner was a tad challenging b/c I needed a little extra space for my gown.  The hoop actually helped to keep me cool in mid-summer b/c the satin on my gown couldn’t touch my legs, etc.  Hope this helps!
