Ok, Friday Night i cried out for help and got an overwhelming response!! But, after speaking to my mother i found that i could still have my “dream dress”… but after reading responses and seeing the polls this morning i am starting to second guess my decision.
Dress 1: I love the flowers! I love the corest top (the boning is visable on the outside if you have never seen this dress up close and personal) and i guess, i love all of the little details about it. The dress makes me feel like a “bride”
Dress 2: I love the fit of the dress. And it has pockets (a detail i enjoy in any dress, lol) BUT, it is just missing… something? I am not sure! It just seems so plain and understated. I wish that there was more sparkle, or detail to the dress, because i agree that it does fit me very well! If you pick this one in the poll, please elaborate on ways that I could dress this up, because i just do not know!
I think that i am more confused today than friday!! Dramatic moment commensing in 1…2…3.. BLAH WHY IS THIS SO HARD!!… Ok… dramatic moment over! Thanks for all of the help so far!

I love both of them for different reasons. See, I am of no help.

If it matteres to you… you look about 2 sizes slimmer in the 2nd dress, if that is irrelivant, it fits my personal taste more (which is irrelivant!) I personally say the 2nd dress – which one makes YOU feel great?

I actually think the second one is less flattering, it looks unbalanced to me, like the bottom is too large for the top. I vote #1!

I vote #1! You look unproportioned in the second dress because the silhouette is empire. The first dress is flowing and fairytale like. Not to mention the bodice fits you beautifully!

Dress number 1 is the one I think ! I love it : I love the beading and the flowers.
Good luck deciding !

Dress 1 looks much better on you- the lower waist is more flattering on anyone (the natural waist versus the empire waist of dress 2.) However, they both work and look nice on you!

I’ve been mulling this over, it’s REALLY hard to choose from your photos.
The first dress is fun and sparkly and young and exciting.
The second dress is sophisticated and lovely. Remember that you can always pile on the sparkling gems for this one.
Which look are you going for? What is your age, what is your venue?

FauxPas2012 I am 26, my venue is silver springs natural park and our theme is a “Beauty and the Beast Garden Vintage Wedding”… a lot i know but i swear it works! I am pretty torn between the 2 for totally different reasons. I LOVE the sparkly flowers all over the AA dress. But i also like the Oleg Cassini… but i am feel like it is almost to plain, and i am not sure how to dress it up! I am at a total loss there….

Dress 2 is much more flattering, but I still think there’s a better one out there for you. Dresses with those waistlines are difficult for anyone to pull off.

I vote for dress 1 because you listed it first (a telltale sign in my opinion!) and because you list positive things about it and it makes you feel like a bride. Dress 2 is very lovely, too. I think it is slightly less flattering, and perhaps too plain for your wedding (as you describe the theme). Buying a dress with the intention of jazzing it up with accessories puts pressure on you later to find these perfect accessories. If dress 1 has it all going on, I say, go for that one! both are beautiful, you will look stunning in either.
p.s. my personal issue with pockets in wedding gowns: they are cute (and useful!) but hiding ones hands is a subconscious sign of insecurity. I wouldn’t want to have pictures of my hands in my pockets on my wedding day. Maybe in a cocktail dress at another event, but it’d be too tempting to put my hands in pockets at my wedding (when I’d be feeling a bit insecure/overwhelmed anyway!), and this can look strange in pictures.

i like the bottom of the second one
it looks like the top half needs to be bigger to create more of an hourglass shape rather than dig in and be triangular. maybe its just the samle size though
to glitz it up i’d add a huge statement rhinestone super sparkly necklace thats nice and wide since you have such nice shoulders

@vintagefair: Based on what you said your venue was and your theme I vote #2. I think it has more of a garden, vintage look to it. Both are beautiful but I love #2.

The first one is more flattering, and I like the second one, but neither is very flattering on you. You need something with a lower waist because those two are cutting you off too high up.
