Getting married August 2014. Setting will be a ballroom in a fancy hotel.
I live in a city w/o any close family or friends, and took advantage of a recent visit to my family to go dress shopping with my mom. Tried on and loved 3 dresses, each very different. I retried on one that I was in love with, but not sure now if it was all the excitement of trying on dresses for the first time, plus had my 6 month old son who was getting fussy so rushed end of apt. We bought the dress, but couldnt’ bring it home that day so i haven’t seen it in a month since then.
I’m having second thoughts now, and need some opinions! i feel it may not be “fancy/wedding” enough. Part of my hang up is the material. It’s taffeta, which i had never thought would be my choice. It’s great, as will be hot here in the summer, but feels underdressed kinda? anyways, what do you ladies think of the dress? I had been looking for a sweetheart neckline, A-line, with beading. We added a belt for sparkle but i worry that 1. It clashes with the taffeta flowers and 2. It’s too plain still. Thoughts?

I like it better without the belt. Otherwise beautiful dress!

@lucky-love: its a beautiful dress! and not understated in anyway. The long veil brings it all together. I do like the belt it adds just a touch of sparkle.
Dont doubt yourself, you picked a great dress that truly compliments your figure!

It’s a stunning dress. I’d leave out the belt and add a wide, sparkly bracelet, perhaps a necklace too.

I like it without the belt too, but only because the dress is a drop waist, so the belt is cutting you off weird. I agree with PP’s, you should add some blingy jewelery to get that sparkle!!

I really like the dress, but I’m not sure about the flowers on it. If you could take them off and add a bit of bling instead of them, I think the dress would be amazing.

I just want to say that you look incredible in that dress. It makes your curves look ridiculous! I love it!

@lucky-love: Personally, I like it better without the belt. Such a stunning dress and I feel like the belt just takes away from it. You look INCREDIBLE in that gown!

I Also like it better w/o the belt bc of the waistline…but it’s SO pretty and elegant and definitely not “un fancy” — it’s gorg!! 😀 And you look gorg in it!

If you want fancy glam I would keep looking. You said everything was sort of rushed and you really should spend good time looking for your dress! 🙂 I personally think its nice but I personally don’t think it’s “fancy” enough for the venue you described. 🙂

It is a nice dress but certainly not what I would picture a bride to wear in such a fancy venue. If you’re not 100% happy, I would keep looking.
