What is it specifically about #1 that you like?  I find them both to be relatively bling-free, so that seems to be a common thread between the two.  What other silhouettes have you tried at DB?  And I know you’re trying to keep the cost at a reasonable level (considering HST is going to jack the price waaaay up).  Honestly, I don’t have a strong opinion about either of them, which makes me wonder if perhaps you should try others on?  I like the scoop/semi-sweetheart of the second dress, but I don’t like the draping at the hip.  I like the material unique-ness of the first, but not the straight across neckline.

I’m going to DB.com; I’ll see if something there seems to be similar…

Follow your heart! Especially since it is within your budget anyway…It will prevent a lot of regret along the way. Plus, I feel that dress #1 looks AMAZING on you!!

Go with your heart. I think it looks better on you, #1. I personally don’t like the other one much.

This one has an interesting skirt and a semi-sweetheart neckline:  It’s VW, and priced at $450 right now.  Satin Faced Organza Fit and Flare Gown Style VW351020

@MsGinkgo:  I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but I only said go with your wallet because that dress is SO much more flattering on you. It makes your waist look so much smaller and your bustline looks great. In general though I would say go with your heart and what you love because in the end that’s what really matters.

Go for #1! You can alway sell it afterwards if you want to recoup some of the cost.

I like the first one better, the 2nd one looks great on your figure but I think dresses like that one are kinda boring, plus I’m not a big fan of satin.

@MsGinkgo:  follow your heart!!! i actually love your ‘follow your heart’ dress. $500 isn’t THAT much when you consider how emotional you’re going to be that day and how much of a connection you’ve made to that dress. you are still getting a beautiful and unique dress for a steal! (in bridal prices, anyway).

Follow your heart!  You will never regret following your heart’s desire, but you will always look back in regret if you follow your wallet, what other people say, choosing something you’re not completely in love with, etc.   Just look at all the “dress regret” posts on the bee, 99% of them was always because the bride went against her heart & intuition and lived to regret it.  If you truly want to save money, than go with #1 and your heart.  If you go with #2 and have dress regret later, you’ll end up spending/wasting more money $$ in the end.

I went to a wedding a few weekends ago where the bride wore the first dress that you love, and I think maybe somethign is lost in pictures versus real life. The dress looks much better in person and moving than it does in a poorly lit store picture. Im sure you will look incredible in the dress that you love, so I say go for it!

Speaking from experience……BUY THE ONE YOU LOVE!!!  I purchased my first dress, based on the cheaper price.  And…..ended up having dress regret as my heart was longing for the dress I loved!  So, it ended up costing me more in the long run, as I ended up buying the dress that I loved as well.

    Good luck on your decision…
