Are there any other bees out there who feel like they love their dress, but it’s really not “the one?” I think I have had a harder time choosing the dress than I did finding someone to marry! I have two dresses now; I tried to compromise with the first one and stayed within my budget, but the quality of the dress suffered. I just bought a second one and I do really really like it; I feel beautiful, I feel like a bride, and I know my fiance would marry me in my underwear. I actually haven’t told anyone besides him that I have a new dress – I can’t deal with any more opinions! Just wondering if anyone else felt like this.

I have never been a bride myself but having worked in weddings for a loooooong time, I can tell you that what you’re feeling is not at all unusual. And, lots of brides end up with more than one dress. The great thing is though, you can re-sell your first dress on the Classifieds here to recoup a great deal of your cost for it AND help out another bride in the process.
I’m glad you love your second dress! You are right in that your Fiance (and your family/friends!) will think you are gorgeous no matter what you choose to wear on your big day. So, no worries!

You are TOTALLY not alone. Just look at all the dress regret/questioning posts lol. I think it’s great that you did end up finding a dress that you love and that you feel is perfect for your day–it’s such a great feeling to finally be confident in your choice!

I totally understand. I went looking for a dress and even took my fiance b/c we planned on eloping and i wanted him to be a part of dress shopping. I loved the dress when I purchased it but I loved it b/c it was the best in my price range. I tried it on a few times and wasn’t sold on it. I was window shopping with some family members about 6 months later and stumbled upon the dress of my dreams. Oh and it was 3 times over my original budget but so worth it. My fiance and I decided not to elope and the new dress is a secret. I tried to sell the first one on ebay but didn’t have much luck. So no worries on your first dress just think of it as your practice run. Good Luck

I’m beginning to doubt my choice of dress too. Just lastnight I was looking at pictures and I kept asking myself “Do I still LOVE it?” Only thing is that it’s not even in yet, suppose to arrive in the next week, and I don’t think I even have enough time to look for another.

I go back in forth between being totally in love with my dress and wondering if I made the right choice. There are just so many beautiful dresses out there! Also, the dress I bought is nothing like what I ever pictured myself in, so I think that’s where my doubts come from, even though it looks pretty on me. My mom told me to go look again but my Fiance thinks that I just have too much time on my hands that I spend reading wedding blogs – I’m pretty sure he’s right 🙂

I bought 2 dresses, seriously. But the first was a major steal at $100 so I couldn’t pass it up (it’s now my “rehearsal dress”) but I was MADLY in love with my Dress #2. I hope that helps.

I am with you. I bought my dress last August and once it arrived I would try it on every couple of weeks and each time I hated it. Finally last week after trying it on and crying over it I decided I needed to find a new one. I found the new one and its totally different from the first…more flowy and less form fitting. Now I have the hard part of telling my aunt (who bought the first one for me) that I will not be wearing the original, eeks! The whole dress issue has been causing me the most stress.
