Hi bees! I have a question regarding the color of my dress. I just got a Marisa silk/satin gown and the sample I tried on in Ivory had a yellow tint. The consultant said the sample was pretty old and that a new Ivory gown would look much different. She strongly recommended ordering the Ivory color over the pure white. Did I make the right decision? I am so nervous I won’t like the color.

I had a similar concern, though ivory was the only option in the dress I chose. The sample looked yellowed and my consultant promised that a brand new dress would be much lighter. She was right.
Don’t second guess yourself. Very, very few people look good in true white.

Ivory often looks much better on certain skin tones. Don’t worry! I agree that not many people look great in pure white.

Thanks for the reassurance! My wedding is not until 8/18/2012. I got my dress so early, and although I love it, I have so much time to second guess everything!

Definitely get the Ivory, and yes… it will be MUCH lighter in person. When mine came in it didn’t match the sleeves I had for it, thankfully it was a pretty easy fix -they were 3 layers so I just removed the bottom one 🙂
Dresses that are tried on often tend to get darker in color and get stretched out a lot vs. a new shipped just for you one.

Always trust your bridal salon. They deal with these dresses everyday and hopefully wouldn’t lie to you. I’ve been dress shopping a lot with friends and family and so far I have never had anyone have a bad experience with the associate lying about the dress being bought.
