I wrote a post a little bit ago about attending a Pronovias trunk show debating on going. Well, I went. And I fell in love (again) with Formentera. I let it go in the first place because at the very first appointment I had they made it seem like it couldn’t come any shorter, but it can. However, the day before the trunk show I fell in love with La Sposa (still Pronovias) Danza, which I found extremely unique.
Let me just say I’m a petite girl. I’m 5’1. Street size 2 (wedding dress 6), but very busty for my frame. I have no pictures of me in the dress because both places do not allow them. It’s upsetting but I understand. I know my wedding is a bit away but I am totally prepared to purchase because I am not as big a fan of the 2012 collection as I am the 2011 and I knew from day one I wanted to have a Pronovias gown. Actually before day one, because I knew when I was in barcelona last year.
The trunk show discount will expire at the end of the week, and it really pays for the shorter version. So I feel I need to decide soon. The salon with Danza is offering their own promotion because they will no longer carry LaSposa after the 2011 collection.
They’re both gorgeous in their own right. Formentera is more traditional looking and romantic. Danza is more bam, check me out. I’ve attached some links for you girls. Any opinion woould help so much, I’m really torn.
real bride in danza:
Oh, the price difference between the 2 is $400. and tax free.

Did you feel more happy or comfortable in one specifically? Would you rather make a bold statement or look more romantic?
Answering these questions may help…

I think I prefer the Formentera – it’s classically beautiful, but has high impact too. I think there is quite a bit going on with the second one (eg the one strap) which might be slighly overwhelming on your small frame. Either way, they’re both lovely.

Oh I have been trying. I’m more of a big statement, over the type kind of girl, z-snap and all. But this is my wedding day after all, I feel like Formentera is more of what people think “bridal” style is and Danza is more modern bridal. Maybe? As far as comfort goes, Formentera since Danza fits better than my skinny jeans. But I was never one to chose comfort over fabulousness.

I agree with Ivyperks that there is a lot going on with the Danza….a bit too much IMO.

I should’ve mentioned that the real bride link for Danza is 5’2. So it would fit me like her. But it is a lot of dress (though not any heavier or lighter than Formentera), just a eyeful.
Also, I’ve made a pro/con list, literally handwrote it and still am having issues.

no one else has an opinion??

I think the First one will look better on your smaller frame. Personally, I think the shorter you are the lower that the “flare” needs to hit if you really want to show your frame.. But not like a true true mermaid where it flares at the knees, i think looks silly. The Danza looks like it hits around the hips and flares which I think its too much for a small frame. I like the Formentera A LOT better. Because of the shape and I think it has a uniqueness to it , Id like it better in a sweetheart top but thats bc I’m smaller busted. I am 5’3 so slightly taller than you and My dress fits identical to the Formentera except it has the pleated ruffle look of the Danza ( or atleast those look like pleated ruffles to me !) Just my two cents! 🙂 Think about the differences in the fabric also.

I am also considering the La sposa Danza. I’m 5’1, 106 pounds and saw this dress on another bride the same weight/height and it looked fabulous!
