Depends how big the sample dress in compared to your actual size .. I think it will bring that ruffle up higher but it depends on if your body is short or your legs are short haha if that makes Sense.. With me I know dresses of any kind do kind of always end up “longer” than where they should but it’s mostly a short leg issue so things that are suppose to hit above the knee usually hit right at the knee and I’m always altering things about 2 inches -_- but I’m also 5 feet so I’m sure it will work out in your correct size because your average hight

Oh and amazing dress !!! I love that style !

I think the dress looks the way it does on the model because she is standing on a stool or something.  I am only 5″1″ and every single “fit and flare” dress I tried on looked like a mermaid.  I simply did not have the leg length to show off the bottom of the dress (ie ruffle part).  When I stand on the stool it looks fine (and more like a fit and flare).  Now you have a few more inches on me so may be if you wear higher heels it would fit more like it does no the model.  But anyway even though it looks kinda like a mermaid it is beautiful on you.

I am 5’2 (I have no shoes on in this picture). I ordered this dress in a petite size 2 because the dress/ruffles were so incredibly long on me. The sales lady said that even in a petite size for this dress, it WOULD NOT change the length of the bodice.

I actually wanted more of the mermaid style than this, this felt like a fit and flare to me. The size I tried on I believe was a size 10.

You look amazing in the dress! Perfect hour glass figure! I hope you are thinking of getting it. If you are not wearing shoes in your photo, I think with them you would get the look you want. ALSO remember that the dress you tried on many have and that can cause this fabric to stretch out and the ruffles to go limp. They are not treated well. A new dress I was told would have fuller, bunched up ruffles.

Good luck and let us know what you end up deciding to go with =)

@xbre2007x:  A consultant had me try this dress one, to compare with sottero and midgley sloan. I’m 5’9 and it looked the same on me (except it was short lol). But I found the top was still longer. I’m not sure if that can be altered at all?

I am soooooo happy to finally see real people wearing Cindy! I’ve been patiently waiting for 4 months to see this dress.  I’ve called every retailer within 60 miles and no one has Cindy.  I had to pay for one of my local bridal shops to get on the list to have Cindy sent to the store as a loaner.  I’m still waiting months later….. Frown   I even stopped looking at dresses because I was so sure this was the one. However ,Im starting to have serious doubts now b/c I’m 5’0″.  Its very clear the model is standing on a pedestal.

Anyway…the dress still looks great on both of you!  I’m very surprised to hear that even the petite would be just as long on top.  I was told by the bridal shop that the petite will be 3 inches higher.  Undecided  Guess I’ll have to keep waiting and see.

My bridal consultant said that the length of the dress would be 3 inches shorter, which is what I need and then hopefully I will not need a hem, but the bodice would be the same. Eeeeks, fingers crossed she is right because I like the longer bodice. My dress doesnt come in for another month and a half.

Shey…. may i ask how tall you are and are you standing on a pedestal? The dress looks great and the bodice hits perfectly.  I cant wait to try it on myself. Im so nervous.  I guess when you try on a sample size that is so much larger then your normal size, the bodice can appear to be much longer.

I liked the longer one with this dress. I have yet to decide if I am wearing a veil as my wedding is beachside, but if I do I am going with a single tiered, fingertip veil which measures at about 42inches.

I rechecked with my bridal consultant, she states that the length of the bodice does NOT change from size to size, if you have a short torso (I have a short torso but long legs for my 5’2 frame) the bodice will be longer on you and appear to be more of a mermaid fit than a fit an flare. Even if you are 5 foot tall, if you have a typical length torso but short legs the bodice may fit you just right. Good Luck!

@fergie3:  Hi Fergie, I am 1,61m that is about 5,2″, Here I am standing on a pedestal, of about 12cm, that is about 5 inches, but on the wedding day I will be wearing high heels, So I hope it would look the same, That dress fitted perfectly! I actually orderd the exact same size. I have also been waiting for months for Cindy brides to put pictures on – I actually started to think that no else likes this dress! So as soon as you have fitted it, please post your pictures!Smile
