Hi bees, this is my first post. I’m having a dilemma about my dress. To give you some background, my Fiance and I have both been married before, I have kids, he does not. We are having a small wedding (just family) and a reception with friends. My ex husband was always critical of my body, so to say I have lingering doubts about my body is an understatement π My Fiance has never been anything but supportive of me and tells me everyday that I’m beautiful.
I was dreading trying on dresses because of my weight/body. I went one day, tried on dresses and bought a dress the same day. I have wondered ever since if I jumped the gun due to my apprehension. I went in thinking I wanted a lace dress with some sort of sleeve. I came out with a satin strapless. I have posted pictures of the dress I bought and the one I fell in love with yesterday. Please help me decide which one! The one I bought doesn’t fit completely so it wasn’t zipped all the way up. Also, I was about 20 lbs heavier in the pictures of the dress I bought (the one without the jacket) than I am now.
Also, sorry I couldn’t get the pictures to post after my rant rather than before and can’t get them to post the right way π

Welcome to Weddingbee and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I can PROMISE you that when your Fiance says you’re beautiful — he means it! Both of those dresses look amazing on you! Which one did you end up buying – the second one (the satin one)?

The second dress is the one you own, but you fell in love with the first dress the other day, did I follow? π
Both dresses look lovely on you! So whatever you decide, know that you will look stunning! I think I slightly prefer how the second dress looks one you, just a little more flattering to your figure. But it also depends on which you feel most confident in ^^
For the record you have a lovely body with a nice shape ^^ Your Fiance is right (and he’s also a very lucky man). Welcome to the hive <3

I bought the one on the bottom (without the jacket, which I could add). I would wear it without the straps. I think I may go in and try it on to see how I like it done I have lost weight and see if I could add a jacket or maybe some lace?

Well you look fabulous in both of them π I am partial to #1 but that might be because I’m biased – I tried it on and loved it! I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

The first dress looks absolutely incredible on you (and style-wise). You look teeny tiny but still curvy in all the right places (and I don’t mean this as a placating euphemism). Essentially, I want your boobs. π Seriously though, you are rocking the lace and tulle (one of my favorite fabric combos) like no other.
The second dress also looks great on you and really emphasizes your tiny waist, slim hips, and great set of girls! I just don’t really like shiny satin/charmeuse wedding dresses, so my vote is with the first one.
Also, screw that ex of yours who messed with your self-esteem/perception! You look amazing, and I htruly hope that you are one day able to see that your Fiance is completely right: you are a beautiful woman (and remember that he’s telling you this as someone who actually knows you inside and out).

Oh my goodness, you ladies are so kind and good for my ego π I so appreciate all of your kind words and opinions, I went and tried on the dress I purchased and it pretty much cemented the fact that I am not completely happy with it, SO, I’ve listed it on a couple of sites in the hopes of selling it amd recouping some of the money I spent, so any suggestions in that regard would be spectacular!

I ended up getting a completely different dress and haven’t had the urge to even look at other dresses, I’m so I’m love with my dress, can’t wait to wear it! The beading is one of my favorite things about my dress!
