I agree that your side should stagger colors as well.  Otherwise it would look pretty lopsided.  And I’m guessing everyone is wearing the same dress/dresses?  I’m totally biased b/c I’m letting my Bridal Party pick their own dress (from same designer in same fabric and color), but given the sizing constraints I think that might be the way to go.  In my opinion, esp. if eveyone has really different builds, the same dress barely looks the same on everyone anyway.

But, if your colors are Mermaid and Truffle (I’m guessing pink and brown?), not buying them from the same place might mean you have a very broad color pallette.  I would advise against having two colors and also letting people pick a random dress unless you know you can closely match the color’s hue from somewhere else.  Otherwise I think it might look chaotic.  Can you show some pics maybe?

Oh, I see.  Then I think it would all work.  My second guess for mermaid would have been aqua blue ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think the truffle and mermaid colors will look beautiful together. I say go for it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think staggered colors on both sides would look nice. As to matching the colors, only dresses of the same color would need to come from the same manufacturer. So if you get all the blue dresses at DB, then you can get the truffle colored ones from the hometown store with the bigger sizes (or vice versa). Would that compromise work?

I think either way would be fine.  Ivory and champagne are neutral enough that I don’t know that I would worry that you have too much going on.  Out of curiosity, do you know what your fiancee’s dress looks like?

Would it be possible to ask David’s to order some extra material and get the dress altered to fit the size 30/32. I know they are not the best at customer service but I think they would hop on the opportunity to get some extra alteration $$$ from you. Worth a shot.

The champagne is a neutral so it will go with whatever else.  I really like the idea of doing the mermaid and truffle.  Have you played with the virtual part of the David’s Bridal website to see how it will all look together?

I think your plan for mixed colors sounds great and it makes sense that you would stagger both sides if one. Just to mix it up abit, have you thought to have her side in one color and your side in the other color to differientiate? Sorry, I’m not trying to give you more decisions just suggestions for when you are at the store. I love the mermaid color. Good luck!
