I’m stressing about my wedding dress and need some advice please (sorry this is long).
I ordered it in May and was told by my consultant that it would arrive in August. I waited until the day after it was due to call (it took a lot for me to wait that long ) and was told the manufacturer was “having a slow year.” The woman I spoke to said she would call the manufacturer to try and find out when it would arrive and then call me back. She never did.
Last Thursday, more than a month later, I called again and was told the owner, who handles order arrivals etc., would call me back the next day. She didn’t.
On Saturday, I went to the store and the girl working told me it showed up on her computer as delivered, so I should expect a call this week.
Since it’s Thursday and I haven’t received a call yet, I stopped in tonight while I was out with my Maid/Matron of Honor to show her the sample dress. When I asked the girl working if my dress was in, she went upstairs to speak to the owner. The girl came back and told me the owner said my dress would not be in until the beginning of December, based on when other dresses from the same manufacturer are arriving.
I was angry, but I needed time to process so I left the store with my Maid/Matron of Honor without saying much.
So, now I’m not sure what to do. Should I just keep waiting? Try and get my deposit back and go somewhere else? Take a deep breath and relax?
