- Wedding: August 2012
Here’s the thing: I fell in love with another Bee’s dress. It’s everything I want in my wedding dress–glitzy, figure-hugging, etc.. best of all, it’s my size (and, length without alterations), and she’s offering it to me at an amazing price. That being said, I’m a bit leery of purchasing it without trying it on. I’ve gone to many shops, and called many others, but unfortunately nothing around my area carries the dress.. or the designer for that matter. This past Friday I went out dress shopping with my Dirty Delete, BFF, and Future Mother-In-Law. I found 2 dresses I liked, but they just weren’t ‘it’–I had the Bee’s dress in my mind the entire time. Oops. These dresses were close, however, so I could potentially order one of them and be happy, but I think I’ll regret not at least buying/seeing the other dress, and trying it on.
Here are some pictures for reference:
The dress I was more drawn to (albeit about 4 sizes too small):
The dress that made everyone cry (minus myself):
The Bee’s dress (on her, of course):
Now, I realize that the dresses I tried on on Friday are more of a fitted A-line instead of a fit-and-flare silhouette like the Bee’s dress, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. I tried on a fit-and-flare a while ago, and loved the shape it gave me..
What should I do?
ETA: The dress I’m drawn to is about $400 over my budget already, without taxes/alterations. The other dress is only about $50 over-budget without taxes/alterations.. and, the Bee’s dress is significantly under budget. Does that alter your decision?
