So back in February I got engaged and I promised myself that I wouldn’t start looking for a dress until I lost my first 10 pounds (just to prove to myself that I could do it). About a month after I got engaged I lost the 10 pounds so I started going into bridal shops and "just looking", I never tried anything on. Well, my mom was getting frustrated with me because she wanted to see me in all the dresses that I kept saying that I liked.
Well, one day while my mom and I were out "looking" we stopped in at David’s Bridal (which I told myself I wouldn’t go into, because I had heard horror stories from my Future Sister-In-Law…long story) and my mother talked me into trying on dresses. I ended up trying on only 6 or 7 (my mom kept pulling things left and right 😉 ) We got down to the last dress and I did NOT like it on the hanger at all, but I figured I would give it a chance, well I fell in love with it. It fit me right in every way, and made me look thinner (bonus!!). My mom and I decided that it was THE dress, and told the consultant that as much as I wanted it, it was my first day out trying on dresses so I didn’t want to commit right then. Still, we wanted to know the price of it. The consultant informed us that the dress was being discontinued, so it was on sale. She came back and told us that it was $350.00….WHAT?!?! It was also one of the few ones they had left, in all of St.Louis. I decided to walk away that day, and still think on it.
The next day, I called my mom and had her go and pick up the dress for me. I really liked it and the price was amazing, how could I pass it up?!?! Up until this week, I didn’t have any doubts about the dress. The problem is, I’ve been looking online at a lot of dresses and see some that I think I would love as well. I figured I would know "the dress" when I tried it on. I also feel like I’ve seen tons of brides wearing this dress, and the reason I think I feel this way is because it isn’t a "one of a kind" dress.
Now I’m wishing I had tried more on and took a little longer. I need your opinion. What do you think of this dress? Did I jump the gun?

That’s beautiful! I have to say, I went to a lot of stores and while I saw lots of pick-up skirts, I did not see many that had the style you have. (Not sure what it is called). I did try on a Da Vinci with that skirt and loved that I felt like Belle from Beauty in the Beast in it.

Thank you! I really love the dress, but I’m afraid that while I’m out with my mom and Future Mother-In-Law while they are picking out their dresses, I will find another dress that I really love and regret buying this one.
I can’t complain too much, because the price was awesome, which also makes me think if nothing else, I could buy another dress to wear just at the reception.
Grr!! So many choices!! 🙂

It is a gorgeous dress! However, I just went through three dresses to finally find the one I love! LOL Would like to see a pic of you in the dress! Plus any dress that makes a body look thinner is a good thing, right?

I think it is beautiful, you can’t beat the price.
I vote that you DO NOT under any circumstances, try on any other dresses, and just rock the one you have.
Put it back on and take pictures of yourself in it, start to envision your accessories with it, picture yourself with your FH on your wedding day wearing it … all that thinking will get you lovin’ it in no time!

That is totally a Belle dress and I’m so jealous! I love it!
You must not have seen the episode of Gilmore Girls when Lorelai finds her dress because heres how you know the perfect dress…it’s your size, it’s on sale, and it’s the last one there.
ding, ding, and ding. We have a winner. Stop drilling you hit oil. Meaning, stop looking at other dresses. 🙂
And you saved A LOT of money that you can now put towards the wedding or your honeymoon. 🙂
I’ve read through a lot of posts on here where girls freaked out because they saw something they thought was better then they put the dress back on and fell in love again. You’re just having dress cold feet. 🙂
But it was so obviously meant to be. 🙂

I think the dress is just gorgeous–and I agree with all the other ladies… it IS a Belle dress! I found my dress at David’s Bridal too (unexpectedly!) on super super clearance. And I have moments of doubt, because there are so many dresses in the world. But then I just try it on and I feel immediately better. Good luck with your dress!

I am going to try and resist the urge to try on any new dresses 🙂 I agree with everyone, I think it’s a little dress cold feet.

I had dress cold feet – and still do when I see certain other dresses! But in the end, I love my dress, and you love yours – or else you woldn’t have bought it! It’s a tough urge to fight, but don’t go trying on other dresses! You will look lovely.

That is a gorgeous dress and you’re just going through the same thing that I think a majority of brides do. Don’t think about it too much and stop looking around! Of course there are other amazing dresses out there but you have an absolutely beautiful dress that makes you look and feel gorgeous. Don’t question a good thing! 🙂
Oh, and when you said it felt like you had seen similar dresses on a lot of other girls I was picturing something quite different. I’ve not seen one like this before. Don’t worry about it being too common.

Girls you are so awesome! You really know how to make a girl feel good about things! 🙂

Looks great, and sounds like a great deal! Just learn to love it and envision yourself in it on your special day! Wish I could lose 10 pounds that easily… I am starting to look for dresses, too, and hopefully I will be as lucky as you.

Its all about your mindset – if you love it and know that you’ll be happy in it, try not to think about wanting other dresses. And, just begin to imagine all of the details in the wedding to go with your dress! There will always be other beautiful dresses out there, its just inevitable that you’ll see another one that you like…but hey, will it be as great of a deal as this? Probably not! Good job!

You have to stop looking. Edn of story. There will always be more dresses out there, but if this is the one you love, it doesn’t matter.
