Hm I don’t know much about dresses but I would think that might be too much of a size difference especially since it’s fitted in the hips

I think your dress is very pretty!! I like these dresses too! I wouldn’t risk trying to get into a size 2/4.  Most likely won’t happen.  I say keep your current dress.  It’s beautiful!! I don’t like the bunchy stuff at the top of these dresses, too trendy for me.

I would say if you were going several sizes bigger than you are, then it should be ok.  But going several sizes smaller – not possible.  You’re probably end up running into the same high alterations cost or even higher.  Have you talked to the salon to see if they’ll take your deposit and order a different dress for you?

There is a huge difference between size 2/4 and a size 6/8.  I’m a size 10/12.  When I went to try on a sample size 8 (it’s a sample so its obv stretched out a little) it was just not happening!  I wouldn’t risk it if I were you.  It’s a lot easier to take a dress in then having to let it out.  I could only imagine what the alterations cost would be to let a size 4 gown out to be a 6 … that is if it’s even possible to do without altering the look of the dress.
