That is so ridiculous! I would demand a full refund for my dress and buy the same dress elsewhere. And like others says report them to BBB an leave bad reviews EVERYWHERE to warn other brides

I second what PPs have said about BBB and small claims court.  You could also have a lawyer contact them.  Sometimes just having someone with some clout contact a business is enough to get their butts in gear.

if they refuse to clean and alter it i would seriously consider checking out the BBB or calling a local news station on them i can see the headline now “Brides Beware!” sometimes you have to press buttons to get what you deserve and paid for!

completely unacceptable.

WOW!  I got pissed just hearing your story!  I woudl call my credit card company and do a stop payment, and then call then ask to speak with the owner.  If they still refuse say you will be stopping payment from your CC and will be seeking legal recourse.

This is absurd. You deserve all your money back take them to court if you have to. You bought that dress it is yours, so they should have never ever EVER let someone else try it on. Expecially now becaue its dirty, and they wont fix it?? Are you kidding me? This bridal shop is a piece of work. I would have “cause a scene, and not been lady like” too. That is unacceptable.

I agree you should call as much attention to this situation as you can. Expecially in the local area of the shop. Warn others and pressure them into giving you what you deserve and what they should have dont in the first place. God I dont even know you and I am super pissed for you…. ugh

Get your money back. Call BBB! That is unacceptable. I can’t believe they let another bride put on a dress you had already bought. Write bad reviews everywhere, as well.

I am soo mad at this bridal shop after reading your post!  My friend’s dad went to the news station about their vendor problem and they promptly got a refund!  I would do this and do the BBB.  I feel so awful for you!

I am so sorry you have to go through this.  I would have probably been thrown in jail for my reaction.  Number one you had every right to “make a scene”.  I agree with everyone else.  Court, BBB, and write bad reviews everywhere.  But i wouldnt just threaten them with this stuff i would actually follow through.  They have to realize there actions are completely unacceptable.  Good luck- keep everyone posted

Take pictures of it as well – at the store, so you have some proof of what is happening.

I definitely recommend threatening small claims court, and if you paid by credit card, call them. If you have the pictures and explain what happen, you likely can get your money back. I would also report them to the BBB. You can threaten it, but even if you get your money back, I’d still report them since they are not a good company.

I know someone that dealt with a driving school and them refusing to work with them (after they got their money). He went through his card and eventually got the money back, but it did take awhile. I always pay for big purchases on my credit card now – just not worth the hassle.

In addition to contacting BBB, did you happen to pay with a credit card? If so, you can ask your credit card company to dispute it for you. Technically, since they haven’t altered the dress, their services haven’t been rendered so you should get your money back. Further, since you are not satisfied with the product, you might even get some money back.

You’re in a terrible predicament and I wish you luck.

Oh. my. god. I second all the previous advice. I’m furious on your behalf! I would sit outside that store and tell every person passing through their store what they did to your dress and how they’re treating you.

If you paid with a credit card (which with any big purchase i hope everyone does), dispute it thru your credit card company.  They will work with you.

That is INSANE!  Take a ton of pictures and document, document, document.  Send the pictures, with a letter to the OWNER of the shop.  Let them know that you demand a full refund and that the consequences are you turn over the entire packet to the BBB and the local TV station or radio station.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this.
