I think that I know what I have to do, I just want to be sure that I’m not going bridezilla for no good reason.
I paid for my dress in November. The dress shop said they were having a trunk sale in December and would order it for me at trunk sale price. Because the shop is 5 hours away from my house, I paid for it when I was there (I have a receipt) and they said they would place the order at the beginning of December.
I called on trunk sale day and they said they would order it. I called back a few weeks later to make sure that the order had been placed, which they said it had. I was told the dress would be in in around 2 weeks at the start of January. I called in January and they said that the dress was actually back ordered, so it should be longer. I called a few weeks later to check the status and the dress shop owner said that the dress was ordered and that I should have my shoes to start alterations at the end of February. She stated that there is no way it would take longer to get the dress in. So I called last week and was told that the dress would ship in 2 weeks. I just assumed they meant shipped to me, so I said I would rather drive to the store to see it (just in case it was wrong). Then the gal made it sound like the dress should be to THEM in 2 weeks…
I know I shouldn’t freak out yet (my wedding is still 6 months away), but I’m starting to freak out. Then I read some older reviews on this shop where complaints were made that dresses were paid for and not ordered. I’m a little freaked out. I know that I should call and talk to the owner, again, but I don’t want to be a pain in the rear. Would you call now, or wait it out? Do I have reason to be freaking out, yet?

Don’t be like me wait it out. Here is my story my dress was ordered in Aug 2014. They said it willl come in on Jan. Jan came and went and still no dress. I came in the shop a the last two weeks of Feb asking for the status update of my dress. To my suprise it was going to come in the week after. It finally came in that following Thursday. I was worrying for nothing. I think you should wait until the end of March and hopefully it will be in by than. The reviews from where I got my dress from also stated that the dress was ordered but never recieved but I got my dress. You will get yours too just be patient. If it isn’t in by April go in store and have a talk with the owner.

Calm down…you ordered your dress barely three months ago and your wedding is not for six months. What brand did you order? It likely is made on China and their production basically stops for a month around February for Chinese new year. Take some deep breaths and stop worrying.

I bet that you all are right. I know that it normally takes 6 months or so for a dress to come in. The designer is Pronovias. I just am worried because the timeline given keeps changing. If it was an issue of them just saying “it will be in around May”, I wouldn’t freak out because it isn’t May. But you all are right. Thanks for saying it so that I can stop doubting myself.

Your dress will not ship to you it will be delivered to the store. The fact that they even gave you a less than a month delievery ETA to begin with was rediculous on their part! Most dresses coming directly from teh designers take 4-8 months to come in.
So take a breath no reason to freak out yet, and stop looking for something to go wrong. Your dress will come in, it will fit you beautifully and you will look stunning walking down the asile to the love of your life!
