I’d call them – I’ve heard of alot of different stores allowing you to transfer your deposit to a different dress. I definitely wouldn’t freak out until after you talk to them!

Hopefully if it hasn’t begun, they won’t have a problem moving your deposit to a new dress.  If it has, is there a way that you can alter your dress to be more similar to the other ones that you like so that you will like it more?  I hope you can cancel it and get a dress you really like!

I bought a dress and then changed my mind too.  It was within 24 hours so the original dress order had not gone to the manufacturer yet.  The store was very easy to work with and they gave me store credit.  You’ll have to call the store to find out if they’ve ordered the dress, but if they haven’t they will probably be happy to switch because they are making money either way.

What does your dress look like and why did you decide that you didn’t like it? I would definitely call the store if you really don’t like it. It is normal to change your mind, but I think that there was a reason that you originally liked it enough to purchase it. Good luck!

OMG! go with your gut! I just went through the same thing! My Sottero & Midgley asm3297 fit me gorgeous and it fit the theme of my wedding perfect but after a few months- I couldnt help but keep looking at other gowns.  I was with my friend at a bridal store going out of business sale and fell in LOVE with this piccione 410 that was almost half the price. $ didnt matter to me at that point! The rest of my wedding is under severe budget restraints but this was one area that meant the most to me. if u know anyone looking for a new w tags sottero & midgley gown – im selling !

Honestly, I like the dress you purchased more than the other two but thats just my opinion!

But you have to be happy with your dress so follow your gut – see if you can put the order on hold until you try on the other two dresses!

I’d see if you can switch it! I like the second one more, but I’m not a huge fan of the… loosely… pleated… swoopy… skirt thing? What on earth is that called, anyway?

I like your second dress better and I see why you have been in question.  The first one is pretty but the second one is romantic and modern.

I had a similar situation except my dress was not ordered yet.  I went out in May to look at dresses.  The best dress there was Alfred Angelo 1839.  I kept saying the things I wanted altered to make it look like me.  Make it strapless, put a flower sash on it, etc.  I never got that “aw” moment.  Then yesterday I went to the store to order it.  I asked to try on a few more just to put my mind at ease.  I was totally right.  I ordered this 2be dress that is amazing.  It kicked that little AA dress to the curb and my mother agreed.  I finally got that “aha” moment and could not shut up about my dress all day.  If you can, order the dress you love.  Believe me, it is worth it.

I had the same issue after I ordered my dress. Just like you I have lost many hours of sleep thinking about how much the dress I ordered really isn’t my style, especially not the color. I ordered my dress it in ivory w/ gold stitching and really just wanted it changed to ivory/ivory after thinking that gold isn’t what I want. I called the bridal shop that I ordered my dress from just this past Thursday and they told me it’s too late- they can’t change the color even though it’s not due to arrive until March. I personally think they are too lazy to do anything about it but I guess there’s not much I can do now.  I am very disappointed but don’t have the time or money to buy a different one. SO end of story- Don’t end up like me, if you don’t like your dress… call and change it!!  Hope everything works out for you! ๐Ÿ™‚

I like your original dress better, tbh. :p

Quit looking at other dresses. That makes anybody anxious. ๐Ÿ™‚

StinaG – I totally know how you feel!  I went through the WORST dress remorse and I also would seriously lose sleep over it.  It was very stressful.  I started looking at other dresses and researching ways to sell mine, or redo our budget so that I could get a new dress.  In the end, I gave it a few weeks and that really helped.  I remembered why I loved the dress soo much and while other dresses were gorgeous (some even more objectively beautiful than my dress), they just weren’t ME.  I also tried on my dress (I bought a sample) with my Maid/Matron of Honor and she helped me adjust it so that it actually fit the way I wanted, which really helped.

I think it’s natural to feel some anxiety about your dress purchase — it’s such a HUGE part of your day and it costs a lot more than we’re used to spending one piece of clothing!  But I would say to give it some time and try not to think about it too much, and see how it goes.  If you still feel this way, see what you can work out with the store.  But I think your original dress is really gorgeous and I actually like it better than your other choice.  Good luck!

Another thing I forgot…

I was starting to get a little ‘meh’ about my dress, so yesterday my Maid/Matron of Honor and I went to go visit the sample at the salon.

Yes, I’m that weird, but it worked. lol
