I had tried my dress on about one month ago and it was just way too tight so I put my mind to eating healthier and eating proper portion sizes along with exercising five times a week. Well today I decided to try my dress on again to see if I have made any progress.
I was happy that the dress zipped up super easy (unlike last month) and was a little loose on top. However, even after losing 8 pounds the dress is too tight around my hip/thighs region and is uncomfortable and noticeably pulling.
Do you have any tips on how to slim this area without bulking it up with muscle (That has always been my downfall!)

P.S. The dress is falling down a bit on top because its a little big.

Would Spanx that concentrated on the thigh area help? I know my Spanx that targeted the stomach area really worked for me.

Spanx and running. I hate running… every awful second of it, but it will slim thighs quicklike.

Unfortunately, you really can’t target weight loss to any specific area. But as the PPs said… Spanx?

I never though about it. It probably would help, I am just trying to avoid them because I find them to be so uncomfortable.
I actually just started back up runing and biking. I am hoping that will work.
Does anyone know of any specific exercises that will target this area and slim it?

You can’t really spot reduce like that, and I’d be careful with biking. Those little hills add up and could add muscle, which eventually slims the thighs, but not in 8 weeks.

Ah the sad truth, wouldn’t it be nice to loose weight in target areas?!? I am just hoping to find something that will help tone that area more than loose weight.

Hi sweetie, as others have said, it’s impossible to spot reduce in one area. Your best bet is going to be to do some intense cardio intervals. Here is what I recommend:
On a treadmill or running outside:
Step 1 – Minutes 1-5: Jog to warm up
Step 2 – Minutes 5-6: sprint as fast as you can
Step 3 – Minutes 6-8: Jog slowly to recover
Step 4 – Repeat Steps 2-3 5 times
Interval training is the BEST as losing weight. To tone your thighs, I would also recommend doing lunges and squats and butt lifts (where you are face down on all 4’s and you raise your leg up in the air, hence lifting your butt)

You can’t target weight loss, but squats and lunges will help speed up toning in your thighs. And a spanx will help, too!

HIIT will help you loose fat quick overall, but unfortunately as other bees have said, you cannot target an area when it comes to fat loss.

Keep on doing what you’re doing. If the dress was tight in your thights before it probably means that you’re losing weight faster on top than on the bottom, eventually it will catch up in your lower body. I lose weight the opposite, my legs and hips slim down first followed by my arms and then my midsection. Keep on doing cardio and don’t be afraid to add some weight resistence, small weights with multiple reps. Also, kickboxing inspired workouts with lots of kicks is great for legs, as is running. Plus diet is important, cut out sugar and processed starches- increase protein and try to keep your diet clean. Lots of water. Spanx can probably shave an inch or more if needed, Your dress is beautiful!
