I think a blinged-out belt or some great large jewelry would look fantastic. I think because it is a simple dress you can do some great acessorizing to make it really work :). Also you look beautiful!

My gosh, I love your dress. The ruffled hem and full-length button detail are amazing. I don’t think you should do too much to it. Maybe just a crystal-detail sash like the PP mentioned, or a lace bolero. Keep the clean lines and don’t do anything in the back that might distract from the detail. Also, try it on again with a necklace or other jewelry, a veil if you’ll wear one, etc. Those accessories alone might do the trick for you and your mom.

Oooh- how do you feel about organza flowers on the bust?  I agree that it needs a bit of texture, but the ruffles at the bottom and top are super cute, and it fits well.  Can you post pictures of dresses that you LOVE?  Then maybe I can suggest how to fuse some of the details?

love the ruffles and the buttons! I do agree it needs a little something special, the organza overlay for the bust or even as a sash around your waistline would add to but not detract from the dresses beuty (and yours!) good luck and congrats on finding a dress even if you need to tweak it a little to be comletely sold. PS my mom was not thrilled about my dress choice she liked one other one better but in the end I want to feel beautiful in my dress so I chose what made me feel like a bride and she is opening up to the new dress whenever she sees how excited I am 🙂

As PP have said, a belt/sash around the middle would be perfect. This dresses beauty is in it’s simplicity and well placed details. It’s not overpowering or overly complicated, so you have a lot of options as far accesories go.

Also, I LOVE your haircut! I had a really similar haircut, but Fiance asked if I might grow it out for the wedding. I kinda miss it, but I’d love to see how your doing your hair/accesorizing your pixie-esque cut 🙂

I LOVE the buttons! The dress looks great on you. I definitely think a blingy sash would be amazing.

The back is gorgeous.  I agree that the front needs a little something –a beaded belt and/or flowered belt would would be really pretty.

I think adding some beautiful lace to the entire bust (just the bust not the waist) and to the hem (above the ruffles) would be beautiful. Something similar to this type of lace pattern and thickness but in a tonal color.  Pair with a sparkly belt.
