OH, The dress drama….does it end…Hopefully it has, at least until alterations begin. I somehow knew wedding dress shopping was not going to be easy for me. Mostly because I used to be this tiny thing and I am not tiny now and have not gotten used to it, so I’m kinda judgey about myself. In the end I probably tryed on 45-55 dresses…ugh. Exhausting! And honestly I did try David’s Bridal, but Really did NOT want to get my dress there just because of all the issues people seem to have there….but in the end thats where I found my dress. I originally went in to with my mind on one dress I had tryed on and liked but wanted to try on a few others as a last ditch effort…just in case.
Just in case indeed! One of the dresses on my list they actually had!!! Now this was a dress I had been trying to find in a store for over a year. I don’t know why they were determined to not put it in a store but it was brand new when I began my search, when I finally acidentally came upon it, it was discounted because it was being discontinued.
Anyhow, my consultant brings it in saying this one is her favorite and we can order it in my size (of course its a size zero and I’m a ten so we put it on but there will be no zipping up) SO at this point I’m torn between the one I can in for and this lovlely creature I had been searching for. I took and hour to get lunch and mull it over (and sychotically call friends for opinions) I come back put it on and go for!!!
We gat me measured and I’m in the middle of checking out when I’m told it’s a discontinued dress so we can’t order it (now don’t be hard on my consultant yet, she didn’t know and was new but she was WONderful with me) so my cunsultant feels terrible and says she’ll call me because she’s going to call the store in CA and see if anyone has the dress. Thankfully she found one and called me to give me all the info. Wonderful wonderful girl!!!!
As paranoid as I am to buy a dress I haven’t seen, the woman at this new store assures me that its prstine and brand new. So I order it an when I get it in the mail, it fits perfectly but the beading is coming apart and there are some tears and pulls and nooooo……
After another round of phone calls and emails, they were able to find me one more dress so I went to my original store to switch and they gave me 50 dollars back. SO in the end it has worked out just fine. David’s really did work with me and I appreciate it.
However, I will be having alterations done elsewhere, partially because they won’t to the alteration I want and because all of my friends who have had alterations done there have really bad stories to go with it.
But YAY!!! I have my dress… A totally different one than I thought I was going for but I love it and am very happy, Sorry no pics I’m keeping it a surprise, but my next post will be accesories and I will have pics of those! till next time…
