I think a silk dress is ALWAYS better then polyester, so if it’s in your budget I would go for silk.

How much was the original?

Up close it will look a lot better in the more expensive silk fabric, but in pictures it probably won’t look too different. I’d say if you have it in the budget to get silk, go for it – otherwise polyester isn’t the end of the world.

Silk just feels better. It’s a natural fabric, so it breathes better then poly. It has a shine to it, but it’s smooth not slippery.

Depends on your budget. I would go for polyester mostly because dress is kinda low on my priority as long as it looks good in pictures. I also figure that I’m only going to wear it for a couple of hours before I return/resell/give away. Either choice, it’s a great deal!

I’d definitely consider upgrading — isn’t polyester supposed to be pretty hot to wear?  The silk would be nice and light!

that is my dress!! I just wore it and it was a great hit! i think the beauty of the dress is in the construction and materials so i would feel that upgrading would be a good option!
