So I’m a full figured gal. I had to move my 2nd dress fitting to a differnt day and now my mother can’t come with me as planned. Both my sisters/bridesmaids will not be able to make it either. I’m debateing calling alterations agian and moveing it agian so my mom or someone can come with me. I know the ladies there will be able to help me into the dress no problem. But still makes me nervous, that and no one who will be at the wedding will be there to see how it is bustled. I don’t what to do, figuered I would ask my fellow curvy bees what they think? Thank you.

I’m not probably what you’re considering curvy but I don’t think this is a body specific issue. I’m picking up my dress from alterations Sunday and I simply am just not going alone because i know I need a second opinion. If you feel like you need that you should make sure someone is there that your comfortable with. Once you take it home you’re done with the changes!

I would definitly postpone it until you can have someone there to see how it is bustled. It can be pretty tricky to find all the little ribbons, buttons or snaps if you aren’t shown where they are. As the one wearing the dress you really wont be able to see where everything is to tell someone what to do. If not mom or bridesmaid, have a friend come with you. Then when you take the dress home have the friend show your mom or bridemaid how to do it.
