Hi
I had my dress fitting recently and although it looked great in the shop, i am not sure that it looks as good in photos. I attach a photo of the dress as it is after the fittings and a picture of me in the shop sample when i ordered it. i don’t think that it looks quite the same. I have lot about 7lbs (through sadness as my fiancé’s mother just passed away) and was wondering if this is the reason (although the dress does fit my current measurements, maybe it looks better on me when there is more meat on my bones).
any opinions/advice please?
thanks

Honestly 7lbs is a fair amount but not enough that it might not come back. If its just from grief and your wedding is in Sept you may gain that back yet. I’d wait to make any alterations until you get a little closer. I think the dress looks lovely on you and suits you nicely it’s very grace kelly/audrey hepburnish.

I think you definitely have a little time before you need to get all of your alterations done. My wedding is July 4th, and I’m going for my first appointment on Saturday. That being said, on a small person, such as yourself, 7 lbs can be a lot of weight. It’s also very possible that depending on how you lost it (ie, not eating, stress) it will come back on later.
I would ask your seamstress about the possibility of sewing in some cups to your dress. That + a good bra might give you a little more padding on top and make you feel better about how you look. I think you look beautiful in both pictures, and while I can only see a slight different in your body, it’s most important that you feel beautiful and confident.
