Unless you are an extremely diligent dieter and you’ve so far seen steady weight loss of five pounds a month or whatever your goal is, I don’t see the point in postponing fittings. Especially because it’s not unheared of to gain weight due to stress. If you’re worried about it, bring up your concerns with the salon (I’m sure they’ve heard it a million times before!) and ask them whether or not they can even accommodate your proposed shortened schedule of fittings. If they are dealing with a lot of other brides needing alterations at the same time, they may not be able to squeeze all of yours in in under a month. My dress has needed a lot of alterations and it has so far taken a whole month to do them. And in Australia, it’s not even bridal season yet, so I’m the only bride the salon is dealing with who needs her dress by the end of the month. I’m sure if they had others, they would not be able to do everything that needs doing in just four weeks. So before you make a decision, ASK.

I misvoted. I voted before I read all the way through your post. Normally, I would say to just keep your appointments because you’ll stress yourself out too much over 5 pounds, however, your date is still far enough out that you can definitely do it safely and with as little stress as possible. So, definitely postpone it a couple weeks if it will make you feel better in the end.
