I know there are lots of brides who do that… but I personally felt like I only get to wear my dress once, and darnit – I wanted to wear it as long as possible!! πŸ™‚  AFTER the reception I changed into a white cocktail dress (actually my moms wedding dress) for the after party. Best of both worlds!

Many brides have done that.  My wedding was indoors so I was able to wear my wedding dress all night.  But some people buy two dresses or a cuter, shorter dress for the reception after all the formalities of the reception are done (first dance, cake cutting, etc… ).  Then you can boogie in a more comfortable dress.  πŸ™‚

I definitely plan on getting a back-up, reception dress.  I may choose not to wear it – I do want to stay in my wedding dress as long as possible…but 1) I want to have an option; 2) when else would I be able to splurge on two (or more) white dresses???  πŸ˜‰

The practical side of me IS voicing that the reception dress should be re-wearable for other occasions.  πŸ™‚
