@drlolaz:  Okay, I didn’t like any of those options because really no matter what you decide dress wise you need to watch your health. Not for beauty but to keep energized while facing all of this. If you are that stressed then you need to take a step away and realize that the day is about you and your FI. If a ballgown would make you feel comfortable in your own skin then sell the dress and try for a ballgown but don’t pig out. Eating nervously is normal but not good and will make you sluggish. You will be fine! Just take a breather and figure out what you would have confidence in wearing.

you look gorgeous in the dress.  i say keep it.  if it makes you feel better, i got married at a country club and i wore a mermaid dress (vera wang ethel) and changed into a drop waist dress (melissa sweet gigi) for the reception.  i didn’t feel a ball gown was necessary at all.

@drlolaz:  uhm, that dress is AMAZING. I love that the bottom is all layered – but theres something so cool and effortless about it. I think it’s perfect for a country club wedding! Maybe change up the sash is you feel that it’s not quite right?

@drlolaz:  You replied to my “body image” post, so I’m returning the favor by replying to yours. I can tell with 100% honesty that NO ONE is going to look at you in that dress and think your hips or butt look big. You look completely proportional. And very, very lovely!

And I think this is totally formal enough for a fancy wedding!

Lady, are you cracked? You do not look hippy even in the broadest sense of the word. You are statuesque as f***. Stahp.

I think the dress is so elegant.  Love it.  Your shape is great in the dress and I don’t think that there is any need for the ball gown.
