So I want to get a dress made that uses the Justin Alexander 8465 dress as an inspiration. This won’t be a wedding dress (as I’m already married) but I thought I could use it for formal nights on cruises, dressy evenings in Vegas with Darling Husband (we go most every year), or even just for fancy date nights every once in a while!
I think I want to switch the tulle bottom out for another material to make it less bridal looking and less poofy (I’d want to keep it A-line, just not poofy). Should I make the bottom silk to match the waistband? And should I keep the waistband a darker shade of coffee/champange as compared to the bottom?
Also – how to you bees think this dress would look with a slight sweetheart neckline? Any bees good with photoshop who could make the pictures of the dress look more like my vision?
Here’s pictures of the actual dress for any who don’t know the style I’m referring to!

I think that dress is Gorgeous!! and Perfect for a fun night out with your honey!!
I saw yes to the sweetheart neckline, and also yes to changing the bottom fabric, maybe to a matte satin? That way if you do remove a few layers of tulle, it would look like a modern party dress (I have one like that, it’s a kneelength black satin, and it has 2 layers of tulle just to give it an a-line) I love the color of it as well, You could match it with a shawl and shoes, maybe that were red?
All in all, you could definitely where it out without it looking bridal. 🙂

@LadySapphire: Thanks! I love the idea of a pop of color with it! I have red shoes from my wedding that would definitely work.
Any one else have any feedback??

I say yes to the sweetheart and yes for taking out the tulle! When I touched this in person I was really suprised at how itchy it felt! If you make this dress you better post photos!

@Miss Tattoo: I am by no means talented enough to make it myself (I wish!) but I was planning to use Jeff Liu / April Bridal via Ebay to recreate it. I’ve heard really good things about him from some of the other Bees.
I will definitely post pictures if/when I get it made though!

Here’s one that’s been altered to have a sweetheart neck:
This is my wedding dress and I love it 🙂 It’s really flattering.

I’ve tried this one on and would highly and STRONGLY recommend having it made into a sweetheart.

not yet, and its still not certain about the refund yet but its looking pretty hopeful.
i spoke to a PAYPAL agent on Monday, and told him they wont answer my emails. so i opened a paypal dispute, in the hope they would email me with an offer to do something for me.
the paypal agent told me that if no emails were received by wednesday, then to escalate it to a claim. well they ignored all emails , and even ignore the paypal dispute. which does not look good for them.
Paypal will make a decision within 2 weeks. but regardless of wether i get a refund or not, i dont think i will wear it anyway.so if i dont get a refund i will try to sell it on.
but i am hoping that paypal will see how bad they are over this, as they have also ignored paypals emails about the dispute.
the dress i ordered is half the price aswell…..£82! they have promised within 28 days i will have it, so watch this space! LOL

I have had this dress made by simply.love
I also had it made with a slight sweetheart neckline, i might need it a little deeper though, looking at the pictures, but thats easy to do……
i also had a bolero jacket made to match. and i also had a detachable halter neck strap made.
