I agree with mangosandcats. First of all, that model is photoshopped beyond recognition. No one’s waist looks like that naturally. And second of all, yes, the drop waist is not the silhouette for someone who wants to make their waist look tiny. It was specifically designed to make women look like bricks – that was the style in the 20s when they came into fashion.

I know this sounds to simple…  But, I’m telling ya…  Invest in a beautiful belt of some sort.  It will make all the difference in the way your waist looks.

You look amazing! And you should be comfortable on your day – corsets hurt after a few hours.

The ladies keep saying get a belt. I agree whole heartedly, but I would take that one step further: buy a darkly colored belt. The contrast draws the eye in and creates an instantly slimmer waist line. White is a difficult colour, but visually breaking up your bodice with a dark belt (navy, emerald, violet, etc.) will firmly define your waist. My belt is bling-tastic, but a simple satin belt would work just as well. An added bonus is that you can coordinate with your bridesmaids.

The model’s waist is freakish, and unnatural.  I think you look awesome in the dress.  Your back is great too!  I really don’t think you need to do anything.

Agree with everybody re the model being obviously  photoshopped. I think she looks very strange! But you, on the  other hand you look very good, a lovely smooth muscualr   back !

I rather disagree on the idea of  belt/sash. Firstly ,  I don’t think a drop waisted dress is made for it . And secondly I don’t think belts and sashes  necessarily make waists  look smaller at all, often the opposite  . I see  brides on these boards who I think have actually downgraded  their look  by the addition of large and/or wide sparkly belts and sashes (only my opinion of course, but  based on years of waist minimising ploys!).

Good waist cinching  shapewear  , yes, and  maybe a little  tightening of the area under the  bust .(wear  your shapewear when you go for your fitting)  but that’s all to my mind .You look wonderful .
