I need to start dress shopping like yesterday, but my family and his family have never been very eager to start the wedding planning busniess. Anyway whenever I do get to go I kinda want to know where to start. I am yound, 19, and I want a dress that is age appropriate but not one that makes me look like a baby. I truly have no idea where to begin. I have been looking online and I like the look of the Maggie dresses, also I have heard that they are kinda forgiving in the way that they fit. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thankyou.

My advice: go to a bridal store like David’s Bridal or AA, and just try on one of every style! It will give you an idea of what you like and dislike 🙂 Then you can get more specific in what styles you want to try on from other designers!

The best advise that I have is take in photos of what you think that you like but that you try on every silhouette. The style that I originally went in wanting is the exact oposite of what I fell in love with on me.

Thankyou both 🙂
I’m sure my sweetmates at school would love to help me with this littlw delema. I guess I have another problem now if you all are willing to help…
Our parents aren’t excited. Not that either family has a problem with us getting married, but it seems like they are content with waiting. When we got engaged a year ago, we said that the wedding wouldn’t be anytime soon, that we would wait till he finnished school and could put us on our feet. Now were having the problem with telling them that we’ve “Set a Date” I am not scared of my parents, nor of the wedding or even the marriage, I just fear disapointment. I’m sure you all will tell me to grow up, but throughout my entire life so far I can never seem to make my parents proud enough. I have a twin sister and I have always been second best. This is one thing the Fiance and I have in common since he has a twin too. I didn’t mean to dump my life onto you all but any advice would be much appreciated.

i looked online for dresses and had so many in mind i wanted to try on.. and i saw a bunch online that i said I’d never try..
When to the stores and started trying on and the ones i loved didn’t look nice and the one i made fun of and hated the most i ended up choosing.. so you can’t really base it on pics you see online..
since you are young.. id recommend maybe a ballgown or A line..
