Hi again bees I hate coming on here to post only when I have a problem but here I am again! LOL oh the ups and downs of being a bride to be right!? ok so here it goes I decided to go dress shoping with only my mom I just did not want tons of opinions clouding my head but now im so lost so maybe you gals can help me out a little.
I went dress shopping today! I went to 3 stores and tried on countless dresses. I wear a size 10 street size and am very discureged as many sample sizes did not fit. Well i made it through the day feeling pretty good untill my mom comented on how I need to keep lossing weight as none of the sample sizes fit…..”how imbarrasing it must be you cant even zip up the dresses I cant belive you dont have pride in your body” Well now I hate all the dresses i loved. I feel like im huge in them. Im sick about it I went from loving tons of dresses to hating them all. My mom did not mean to do this but it happend…. I cried alot she said she is sorry and she feels horrible but the truth is she cant take those words back…
I have two more apointments tomorrow and am hoping to find all new choices that I like and gain some confidence back but I wanted to put todays finds out there to see what you girls think ? How do they look? What ones do you like why why not.Any tips on styles that may work?
Thanks Girls for all the help I feel like wedding be is my saving grace when it comes to weddings. God bless you all

@Future_Mrs_C25978: Oooooooo, pretty!
#5 gives your figure the best balance. The sweetheart top needs to be pulled in tighter and fit to you, but that dress is really very flattering!
I do not like the last one on you.
#1 is a close second, it’s very pretty.
I think A-line is your sillourette.

@Future_Mrs_C25978: dress 4 is amazing on you, it flatters your figure and the illusion neckline compliments your bust. I love it!

I Looove the last one! It does the most for your figure!

Don’t listen to your mom… I think sometimes they just don’t think before they speak. My Mother-In-Law has gotten all into running since she got divorced 4 years ago… I recently gain 5, maybe 7 pounds. (I am scared to step on the scale so maybe more… I need to work out). I took my Mother-In-Law to see my dress for the first time last weekend and told her that since I gained the few pounds i felt like I look fat in my dress… her response was “Well you do”… and then said she meant that I look curvy and good in it. And to be honest, she has a weird way of thinking most of the time so maybe that’s what she meant. Who knows.
My point is, you look great in pretty much all of those dresses. And if a dress doesn’t look good, it’s not bc of your weight.. even the skinniest girls don’t suit every single dress style. You have to find what flatters your shape. I love the first one and the last one the most. the first is my fave and when it is the proper size and fitted to your bust, it’d look even better!!!
Have confidence and make sure you pick the dress that gives you goose bumps!

I like the first dress on you the best. I think the natural waist ballgown is a really flattering silhouette on you. The only thing that would make it better would be a slightly deeper sweetheart neckline.

@Future_Mrs_C25978: I LOVE dress #1 on you! You look great in all the dresses!! Don’t listen to your mom, you are a beautiful women and there are tons of women out there that can’t fit into sample sizes and thats MORE than OK!! I shopped without anyone and showed my mom and my fiance family once I was done choosing a dress so I didn’t have any opinions and chose what I wanted. I’m a plus size girl and was lucky to fit into the sample but it was also from a plus size line. Any of these dresses that you choose will look great on you! Choose the dress you feel comfortable in and the one you don’t want to take off! A-line looks great on you!! Good Luck!!

I like number 1 personally. But I’m partial only because I love full skirts.
You are a size 10. I’m twice (literally, my dress is an 18) your size. I had a consultant refuse to let me try on dresses that wouldn’t zip, even tthouh they could be ordered plus size. She even went as far as telling my SIL that “my section is over there”. Don’t worry. You will look beautiful on your day, regardless of what dress you chose. You will know when you put it on and you won’t feel any insecurities. Keep your chin up and enjoy the dress shopping process. 🙂

@Future_Mrs_C25978: I think #5 is my favourite..but #1 is up there too! I think #1 would look awesome once it is fitted properly, it would make your waist look tiny! PS. Sorry your mom said those things..dress shopping can be hard if you aren’t 100% happy with your body – but for what it’s worth I think you fantastic in all of them!! Don’t let what your mom said get you down and go for what YOU love!

In my opinion, # 1 and #5 look the best on you. Good luck!!

@Lizzy723: That is horrible mmy heart brakes for you that you had to deal with such a horrible person . I am fully aware a size ten is not really big. Im sure just lost an amazing bride and sale! Did you ever find a dress?
