Hi Bees! I bought my dress recently and am trying to decide whether to keep the straps or remove them. I liked the idea of straps but was surprised at how much I liked the look of the strapless. The main downside of strapless would be removing the lace on the back and buttons.

That strapless looks amazing on you. I’m usually a fan of straps, but I’m voting strapless all the way.
If you wanted someplace in the middle, you could also get an illusion back bolero for the ceremony.

The dress looks fantastic strapless, so that’s what I voted for.
Like a previous commenter, I usually prefer straps, but your figure and the details of the dress stand out much more without them.

I vote strapless. Like a PP said it stands out more with your figure and the style of the dress.

larissakay: I agree. I’m usually not a fan of strapless, but I like the strapless version of this vs. the straps here.

Definitely strapless! You have amazing shoulders and collarbone and you shouldn’t cover them up with the straps.

Straps – but I’d reduce the width by about half, probably removing the half that’s closest to your neck so you’re showing off more of your collarbones. I’d also alter the back to give it a v-back instead of it being covered.

Strapless lace mermaid dresses are a dime a dozen. The buttons and the back on this are great! I like it as is, but I think the PP has a good suggestion of having the front of the straps re shaped and narrowed maybe. You will look great whatever you pick though!

Strapless.
The dress does nothing for your lovely shape with it covering you up!

I agree with pp that s good compromise would be narrowing the sleeves and perhaps taking out some of the fabric in the back to show more akin up top and get that same Balance. If not the sleeveless for sure

Strapless! If you miss the cute lace on the back, maybe change it up and wear a necklace with a long dangly bit on the back? Don’t know what those are called sorry! But I stick to the strapless vote – you can pull it off and it looks much more flattering!

Are you going to have an updo? If you’re wearing your hair up, I vote for keeping the straps and the lace back. If your hair is going to be covering the back at all, go for strapless.

oooh. though one. But I love, love, love the laced back so I have to vote for straps!
