Hey bees!
I have loved reading through the blogs and boards over the past few months to see all the wonderful and creative things everyone does for their weddings…it’s so fun to see what everyone comes up with and all the different styles.
I am now stuck between two different styles for my wedding dress and could really use your help! I love the one with clean lines and the slight ruching and think it’s probably more flattering on my figure. But I also love the one with all the pick-ups and lace, it totally appeals to that girl in me that still loves playing dressup.
My concern with the second one is that it might look like a beautiful wedding gown on a pretty bride instead of a beautiful bride wearing a pretty gown (if that makes sense)…I want to be wearing the dress, not the other way around!
I love them both…and hate making decisions, so I appreciate everyone’s input!
Thanks!
PS Sorry for the funny faces and angles on the pictures, we were trying not to take too much time!

I usually hate pickups and embellishments, but the second dress is GORGEOUS! Plus, the way the skirt comes out makes your waist look tiny. π

well I am going against statutory grape by saying I like the first one better. I think both of very pretty and look lovely. But i just had something for the first one.

I think the second one does more for you. Plus I love that dress π I think the first one falls to straight on you.

Without looking at your pics, just from reading the poll descriptions, I thought the one described as “clean lines” would probably win the poll. The majority of Bees prefer a simpler look and the vote usually goes that way. Me? I’m all about embellishments π I like the second dress 100 times more. First one’s forgettable, second one’s wow. It’s not wearing you at all, you carry it very well.

I love the second one. Is that Allure? I could be bias because if that is the Allure dress it was my first choice, however, I could not find it anywhere to buy. And I love pick-ups and lace. Those were my must haves in a dress. π I just think that the second dress is so lovely and it makes you look super tiny in the waist.

Another way to look at it, OP, is this. You can always wear a sleek, simple gown to another occasion, but when else will you be able to wear the princess-y dress? π

There is no “wow” factor in dress #1.
I voted dress #2. It’s beauuutiffullll – though I’m not sure either are the right dress for you since they’re both so different I can’t get a vibe for your style haha!
Best of luck.

Both look amazing on you, so that really isn’t an issue. To me they speak of two completely different personalities (I’m the second one, love it!). The first is sleeker, more put together, in control. The second is more romantic, running through fields to your love, girly. You need to decide how each dress makes YOU feel when in them and which is more you.
Have fun! This is one decision where you can’t really go wrong, both are gorgeous (and you are in them!)

Thanks for all the help ladies! The sleeker one is a 2Be Bride and the one with pick-ups is a Sincerity.
So the votes are at 10 and 9…doesn’t make the decision easier but at least I don’t feel crazy for loving them both!!
They are very different styles, I think that the sleeker one is probably more “me” BUT I do love playing dressup and my wedding will certainly be the only time I ever wear a dress with tons of pickups (good point, Grape!)
Lots to think about, but it’s so nice to get a more objective opinion than my family and friends π

I really like the first dress on you. You really shine in the first one. The focus is on YOU, not the dress.

The second dress reminds me a lot of the Pnina Tornai I’d been dead-set on for almost a year before changing my mind this month, so I gotta say that I’m partial to it. But additionally, I think the first one is a bit plain, especially when compared to all the details in the second one; meanwhile the second one, like others said, makes your tiny waist look even tinier! Like, “Dang, are you wearing a rib-smushing corset?!” tiny.

I think they’re both really pretty but I think the first one is so flattering and elegant – either way you’ll be gorgeous!
