So I ordered my dress the last week of September, and wasn’t expecting it in until the end of March. The salon called on wednesday, and it’s arrived early. Apparently I need to go in, inspect it and try it on, and then take it home.
I don’t know why, but it’s like I’m not ready yet. I’m nervous it won’t fit (which I have no real reason to be, since I haven’t gained weight). I don’t want it in my apartment, and haven’t figured out where to store it yet. But mostly I think it’s the fitting part.
“The dress” is such a big deal, I feel a little strange that I have no desire to run right over and try it on again and take it home.
Did anyone else feel that way?

@SeaSalt: I was definitely nervous about the dress fitting! Don’t worry, it’s normal! 😀 Everything will be okay! Plus, you don’t have to start alterations yet, so you’ll still have time. 🙂

@pengoala: Thanks! I felt really weird about not being super excited to pick it up. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. 🙂
Just got back after picking it up. If anything, it’s a touch too big (which is funny, since my measurements matched the guide almost exactly) so there’s relief in that.
It look so much nicer without the clips in the back. It’s just lovely, probably lovelier than I remembered it. Now my big anxiety will be making sure it doesn’t yellow or pick up odors from cooking. I’m thinking I’d be best to store it at my FMIL’s house. That will also remove all temptation to haul it out and try it on every other day. 🙂
