I ordered my dress today. The dress I tried on in the store fit perfectly. It is so pretty, with lace on the back and buttons all the way up. Last week this same exact dress did not button.
When I ordered the dress, the consultant suggested I go up a size, as it was a teeny bit snug, and it is easier to take in then to let it out. She told me with how many times these dresses get tried on, they tend to stretch and are in fact larger than the listed size. I agreed to get the larger size, even though I have been loosing weight easily and quickly and plan to continue. I just didn’t want it to not fit!
Problem is… The size I wanted to order wouldn’t be in until 7 days after my wedding! The only choice was to pick a different dress, order up (which would need tons of alterations, I’ve never been that size and I’ve lost 20 pounds), or to order the size I tried on. I ordered the size I tried on.
Thinking about it now, I have only lost about 2 pounds since I last tried it. If the dress has stretched this much in less than 2 weeks, how much has it changed over its life!?!?!
Current plan is to just really buckle down on my fitness, see what alterations can be done, and worst case scenario put it on multiple times before the big day and have my BMs stretch it out!
Does anyone have experience with this? Was your dress smaller than the one you tried on?
