Yesterday was my first dress journey and it was such a great experience. I went with my Mom, Sister (MOH) and BFF (BM) to two salons in NYC armed with my strapless bra, spanx, heels, Pen & Pad + discreet camera skills (which my mom was completely lacking, lol.). So since I love you all so much I wanted to share all the pictures I could in hopes of helping other brides. I appologize in advance for the size of these pictures.
The first stop was the Demetrios Salon at Macy’s. I put on one of my dream dresses and realized I didn’t want sleeves and did NOT want to be unable to walk on my wedding day so I moved away from the ball gowns & tulle and towards softer fabrics and dropped waist styles.
Demetrios Ultra Sophisticates 1434 – First dress. Gotta love them. Super princess but I realized I wanted something a bit more fitted.
Demetrios Ultra Sophisticates 1439. Dropped waist. Good. Very minimal bling. GREAT (I do not find bling important). But I wasn’t feeling the tulle.
Demetrios Illusions 3137. I loved this one seriously. Soft organza, train appropriate for a garden wedding and it did awesome things for me.
Then we rushed uptown to Pronovias. And this place is like dress heaven. My consultant was amazing! I tried on Uceda and it was so beautiful but it was just soooo much dress. My mom has that picture in her camera. I will post it on the Uceda trend running around the boards. But then my consultant put this beauty in my room.
Pronovias Silaba. I think this is my dress for real. I just love it so much. I started crying. The train is a bit long but they say it will fit when it is fitted. On our scale from 0-5 we all agreed this dress was a 6!
Followed by Pronovias Finisterre. I love the feel of this dress but the train is just too too long.but it is so freaking beautiful. And it makes my boobs FEEL awesome. Like I fear my Fiance will be feeling me up the whole ceremony.
In the end I KNOW now I want to be a Pronovias bride. I think I want to go back to try on Finisterre & Silaba and then Usia.

@Sapphire-Dreamer: I actually tried on the Silaba when I was dress shopping, and I really liked it a lot. I was seriously considering it until I tried to sit down and had some issues with that. I just don’t think the super fitted look was right for me.
It looks gorgeous on you, though! You seriously look like a model in that dress. You’ll have to let us know what you decide.

I love the Silaba on you!! I was debating between Demetrios & La Sposa (similar to Pronovias) and went with the La Sposa 🙂 Their dresses just feel soo much better made.

I’m a pronovias bride too! I ended up with petunia, which is the second version of Finisterre with straps. I think they both look awesome on you! And your body in Silaba- wow.
