- Wedding: September 2013 - Pavilion at Rocky Neck State Park
So I have seen a lot of other people post their experiences and such, so I decided to post mine.
So I first went shopping at Alfred Angelo, which I found my first dress. It is beautiful and was everything I said I wanted. A ball gown with LOTS of sparkle.
However, after we started putting deposits down on our vendors, I quickly realized that I wouldno longer be able to afford my dream dress. So I made an appointment at David’s Bridal. There, I found 2 dresses I liked.
The first, a ball gown by Olga Cassini (which was my mom’s favorite and she was trying her hardest to convince me to get it)
The second dress is a Melissa Sweet mermaid (which is the one I was leaning towards, but my mom hates mermaids as wedding dresses)
Although I founds dresses I LIKED, I didn’t find any dresses I LOVED. So I called up Alfred Angelo again and made another appointment.
When I walked in, I expected to walk out purchasing Cinderella:
The consultant, while trying to find a dresses that I had showed her a picture of, saw this dress and grabbed it just for kicks and cause it was my size.
As soon as I saw myself in it, I knew it was the one. It was WAY less than my budget, so I saved hundreds of dollars and it also fit me almost perfectly. It was definitely not what I expected. I thought my dress was going to be all sparkle and such. Never in my life would I have thought I would choose a more simple dress. Let’s just say I did not expect to walk out of Alfred Angelo’s that day with an actual dress in hand.
So what do you think of my dress journey? Think I made the right choice?
