I placed my order for my dress a few days ago, but have a bit of time to change the length if needed.
I measured 56′ hollow-hem, and am planning on wearing flats (woodsy outdoor wedding). The bridal salon ordered a 57′ gown- is this cutting it too close? Should I have them order 59′ and possibly need more alterations?
ps. my dress is the san patrick calais…with petals around the bottom, so I think length alterations may be a bit tricky..?

If it has to be shortened will you lose detail off of the bottom? I would stick to the original measurement.

If you take your dress to a good seamstress thay will make sure you don’t lose any of the detail on the bottom. (I just had that conversation with my salon, I was worried that I would lose the goregous lace on the bottom but they work with it so you don’t lose it.) I would stick with the 57, you never know it may end up being perfect and you may end up saving some money.

They are the professionals so I would leave it as is. Keep in mind that if they make the error they are the ones responsible.
