it’s okay.  Just step back for a second.

There is no ONE PERFECT DRESS.  You will find several wonderful dresses that you’ll love.

there’s no chance of selecting the wrong dress.  If you love it, its right.

Even once you buy it you may get dress regret.  I was sure I would be practial about it and once it’s purchased it’s purchased but it was not the case.  I ended up with a wee bit of dress regret.  Then I tried it on again with the seamstress and she let me see what it would look like without the extra length (gosh why are all dresses made for really really tall people) and bustled up and the practical me decided it was all going to be ok.

Don’t stress.  Take a look, find something you like and go from there.  Try on more with the same shape and attributes you like and bam, before you know it you will have a dress that you love.

It’s okay, don’t stress! There are thousands of dresses out there. The vast majority of us have budget limitations which probably keep us from getting our dream dress, the dress that we know would never allow us to feel a moment’s worth of dress regret. So we buy a dress we really like, maybe even love, and continue to see other dresses online that we really like, maybe even love, maybe even our out-of-reach dream dress, and then we look at the crappy, poorly lit cell phone pic of us trying on the ill-fitting sample with disheveled hair and no makeup, and we freak out and wonder why we spent so much money on The Wrong Dress. But it’s okay! Because it wasn’t the wrong dress; it’s just our minds playing tricks on us. On our wedding day we end up looking amazing, people might even cry, and it’s awesome. Or so I’m told. Wink

You’ll find a great dress; it doesn’t have to be THE dress; THE dress might not even exist, but you’ll find a great one, and when you do, don’t second guess it! You can drive yourself crazy for no reason! Many brides who have gone before you can attest to that.

I know what you mean! I’ve had a hell of a time making a decision. I flip flop back and forth between beautiful dresses. It’s HARD!

Deciding on a dress is (somewhat) similar to deciding on a groom:  We try some on that we like, we try some on that we don’t like…we try some on that our mother/friend/sister thinks we might like.  Some of them make us feel like a princess…some of them make us feel frumpy.  Some of them we walk away from yet continue to think of often. Regardless, eventually you find a man/woman you love and you commit to them for life.  Your dress should make you feel beautiful.  It should make you feel both comfortable and confident.  It should highlight your best features and be forgiving of your worst. It should put a smile on your face and be something you think of with happy anticipation.  Just like your significant other.  (only with beading/lace/tulle/etc…)

Relax!  You will find a beautiful dress to commit to ๐Ÿ˜‰

My advice would be to get some ideas from looking on the internet and print out some pictures. This will give you some idea what you want to try on at the store. Once you have gone by yourself and have decided which ones you have chosen. Then ask your family to come and give their opinions. This way you would have picked what you wanted and they will have to choose from what you decided on for an example three dressses you have already chosen. I hope you find what you are looking for and are comfortable with your choice. Best wishes on your shopping…

I have mine on layaway and I’m still unsure of whether I was talked into it. I stare at the pictures and video I took of me in it, and I just do not know……..

@malouloune:  Lol!  That’s impressive (and reassuring, I’m sure) to know he picked the same dress you loved!  Your dress will be special because it will be the one you’re wearing during your church wedding.

Good luck throwing your Darling Husband off the trail (if he’s anything like my Fiance, it shouldn’t be too hard to do lol)

@malouloune:  I hear ya girl!!!! It is so hard to commit to the dress! I bought my dress after only trying on 6 dresses. And I started to question my dress choice the next day. But I didn’t say anything because I felt really silly. It was just a dress right? WRONG. I told my sister and mom a few days later and they were like ‘whhyyy its so pretty’

I called the bridal store and told them about my regret. They said ‘well when it comes in, you can exchange for a dress that is in the store’ My mind was already set on getting a new dress. I was sooooo over my dress at this point. I even went to bridal stores in different cities to try dresses on. I looked online for hours everyday at every kind of dress. I was obsessing!

Then, the bridal store called me 5 months later ‘YOUR DRESS IS HERE’ I thought ‘okay here I go. I try it on and either love it or hate it’  AND GUESS WHAT! I freaking loved the shit outta it! Seriously, dress regret vanished. I think everyone gets the dreaded dress regret. Even a little bit.

DONT WORRY! It happens to us all, and most of dress regret or the unsureness goes away:)
