FYI, I just exchanged my DB dress. If you go in an explain what happened, and offer to purchase a gown that is of equal or more value, they will probably let you do it. I had bought a ball gown that was beautiful, but was upset at the idea of spending money on a huge bustle that would alter the look of the dress. I told them I’d rather buy a more expensive mermaid, that would be cheaper to alter. They were fine with it!

teee:  Just because a store labels something a bridesmaid dress, doesn’t mean it can’t be worn as a wedding dress. If the “bridesmaid” dress costs less than altering the ” wedding dress”, I would choose the “bridesmaid dress”. It looks fabulous on you.

You can sell the wedding dress to recoup some of your costs.

Either the bridesmaid dress or go in and explain what happened and if they let you exchange it for something of equal or greater value get the sexy wedding dress you want!

I LOVE the bridesmaid dress on you! It reminds me a little of my Essence of Australia 1802 dress! I’m not loving the way the under layer of the skirt looks on your first dress.

Major minority here – I think the original dress is a much better fit !

I dislike any dresses like the second with the seam lower and the slight flaring out 1/3 down (if that makes sense…) – I find them sooooo unflattering on women sideways and makes them look so much heavier! To each their own and at the end of the day wear whatever makes you happy 🙂

I did the same thing.  Bought a gown, ended up hating it and bought a bridesmaid dress.  I love it!

mixprints:  seconded, LOVE the first one, it’s so pretty and romantic and flowy. I think alterations to get rid of that horizontal line and taking in a bit & it’d be perfect! Photoshopped out that line to give you an idea..

I love the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, but I’m pretty biased since I bought that same one (different neckline– in gray) with the mindset of using it for my wedding dress as well! 😉

teee:  the 2nd dress looks great, I like it a lot better than the 1st one, I would get it in an Ivory or blush

Honestly, i’m not a fan of your dress. I agree with you that it doesn’t flatter your figure.

Perhaps try selling your dress and then taking the money and buying whatever you want, be that a bridesmaids dress or another wedding dress.
