I’m getting married New Years Eve in Jamaica.
I ordered my dress in June. Told it would be in mid-October, now they’re saying 1st week of December.
That gives about 2 weeks before the holidays to have it altered.
I’m so stressed out I could puke every day. My dress has been paid for in full… Bride Beautiful in Atlanta is promising me that it will be done in time for me to board the plane.
What if it doesn’t come in? I’m thinking about not getting married. I know that sounds totally pathetic, but I’m supposed to be perfect that day… right?! What if I’m not perfect because I don’t have a dress.
What would you do if you were in my situation? Yes, I have another dress, but it’s from Nordstrom – it was $250.00 (instead of my $2K) and it’s pretty, but it’s not THE dress and it’s not perfect…

@janetlg2012: Here’s a picture of the dress.

Two weeks should be plenty of time for alterations; you probably would only be able to do one round of fittings instead of (wedding industry recommended) three fittings.
“What if I’m not perfect because I don’t have a dress.”
Really? That is a first world problem if I’ve ever heard one. I’m sure that your husband-to-be will think you are beautiful and perfect just as you are, $2k dress or no.

youIl you should have just enough time. Try not to worry so much.

What would I do if I were you? I would just check in with the store every week or so to make sure the dress is still on track for a Dec. 1 arrival. Make then keep reporting to you so you know what’s going on and can make a plan B if need be (really doubt you’ll need one).
Don’t skip your wedding over this! 🙂

You will be fine–mine came in just weeks (I think 3) before my wedding and I had plenty of time. Just contact a seamstress now and let them know your situation and to make room for you!

Whenever I worry about something I can’t control, my mom always tells me “99% of the things you worry about that you can’t control never come to pass.” It makes me feel better.. I hope it does the same for you!! 🙂
